Ravens (7-3) @ Patriots (9-1)-- New England off their Monday night win, their third straight cover and seventh in last nine games. Pats are 3-1-1 as home favorites. Ravens covered their last six games and eight of last nine; they're 5-1 SU in last six, scoring 25.7 ppg during three-game win streak- they're 1-0 as dog this year, losing 15-10 as 7.5-point dog at Philly. Lewis-led defense allowed just 5 TD's on last 69 possessions. Ravens outscored last three opponents 58-13 in second half.

Eagles (9-1) @ Giants (5-5)-- Philly clinches NFC East with a win; they beat Giants 31-17 in Week 1, despite being outgained 454-413. In that game, both teams were in red zone four times; Eagles scored four TD's, Giants just 7 points. Philly is 3-2 as road favorite; seven of their nine wins are by 10+ points. Giants lost last three games (minus-5 turnover ratio); they're 4-2 as dog; their last 3 losses are by 7,3,4 points. Philly is 6-1 in last seven series games, with three of last four wins by 14+ points.

Redskins (3-7) @ Steelers (9-1)-- Big Ben led-Steelers covered last eight games, holding last three foes to three TD's on 31 possessions. Pitt is 4-1 as favorite, 2-1 as the home fave. Redskins covered just two of last nine games, as their putrid offense has scored two TD's on their last 36 drives. Six of last seven Washington tilts stayed under total, as did last three Steeler games. Redskins started 36 drives 80+ drives from goal line, and managed just four FG's on those 36 drives, not very good.

Browns (3-7) @ Bengals (4-6)-- Death wish on as Butch Davis will be job hunting soon; Browns lost last four tilts, scoring just 10 ppg in three games since bye(two TDs on last 33 drives). Last Cleveland win was 34-17 over Cincy when they outgained Cincy 449-189, overcoming a -3 turnover ratio. Bengal defense getting better, allowing two TD's on foes' last 36 drives. Holcomb gets start at QB in place of injured Garcia. Bengals are 3-2 at home, 0-1 as favorite this year, Browns 3-6 as underdog.

Jaguars (6-4) @ Vikings (6-4)-- Leftwich might be back at QB for Jaguars, who have just three TD's on last 31 drives; Jax is 5-0 when it allows 17 or less points, 1-4 if it doesn't. Vikes averaging 23.4 ppg at home, but their last three home games stayed under total. Jaguars are 2-0 on carpet this year, beating Bills 13-10, Colts 27-24. Teams met twice, both at this site, with Vikings winning 50-10 in '98, and Jags winning 33-3 three years ago.

Bucs (4-6) @ Panthers (3-7)-- Last two NFC champs hook up for first time in '04; teams split four meetings at this site. Six of seven series totals have been 34 or less. Carolina won last two games, scoring 62 points (nine TDs on 25 drives)- their last four games went over. Bucs won three of last four games, with three of those staying under but Bucs are just 1-4 on road, beating only erratic Saints 20-17. Panthers picked off seven passes in last two tilts, and have plus-8 turnover margin in last four contests.

Chargers (7-3) @ Chiefs (3-7)-- Chiefs lost three games in row, allowing 29.3 ppg, giving up 16 TD's on last 41 drives, and are on short work week in this one. Chargers won their last four games and six of seven; they're 3-2 on road, and 8-1-1 vs spread for year, with seven ****** in row. KC won last three in series, with average total in last four meetings, 51.6, but look at the records of each team, then explain why Chiefs are favored. Bolts are 5-1-1 as an underdog this season.

Titans (4-6) @ Texans (4-6)-- Texans beat Tennessee in first meeting, 20-10, their first win five series meetings vs old Houston team. Texans had four picks in first meeting, holding Titans to 19-41 passing. Houston lost last three games in row, though, allowing 32 ppg and 13.7 yards a completion- they've been outscored 41-14 in second half of last two games. McNair engineered late comeback win in Jacksonville last week. Titans are 3-2 on road. Last three Houston games went over the total.

Saints (4-6) @ Falcons (8-2)-- Atlanta won thirteen of last 18 in league's most underrated rivalry, but Saints won both meetings last year, but are horribly erratic in 2004, with five losses in last seven games. Saints are 0-5 when it scores less than 27 points, a figure Falcons allowed twice in ten games. Atlanta won its last three games, giving up three TD's on last 21 drives, but they've covered one of last four as home favorite. Saints are 2-1 as road dog. QB's Brooks and Vick are cousins.

Jets (7-3) @ Cardinals (4-6)-- Jets won bidding war for Joe Namath over Cardinals in early 60's, and Redbirds haven't really spent much money since, but they have won last three home games, allowing 13.7 ppg (three TDs on last 34 drives). Jets have shaky Carter at QB; they have scored 14.7 ppg in last three games, but have run ball for 156.5 yards a game in two games with Carter at QB. Six of last seven Arizona games went over total. Cardinals won last four games that they allowed 30 or less points.

Bills (4-6) @ Seahawks (6-4)-- Bledsoe returns to home state with Buffalo team that won four of its last six games, but they're 0-4 on foreign soil, scoring 9 ppg (three TD's on 42 possessions, none in last two road games). Seattle was lucky to beat 1-9 Miami at home last week; they did get new punter this week, which will help. Seahawks are 3-1 at home, scoring 27 ppg, but they have Monday nite home game vs Dallas next week. Seattle is 1-5 as a fave since their bye, after they started season 3-0.

Dolphins (1-9) @ 49ers (1-9)-- Miami spent entire week out west, but have Feeley banged up and Fiedler out with injuries, so Rosenfels is backup. Both teams are terrible, but 20 years ago, they met in Super Bowl. 49ers lost five games in row, allowing 31.8 ppg; in only game they won all year, they trailed 28-12 with 5:00 left. Fish are 0-5 on road, with losses by average of 11 points. Neither side is a good play in this game, repeat, neither side is a play.

Raiders (3-7) @ Broncos (7-3)-- Shanahan 15-4 vs man who fired him in Oakland, winning last three, including a 31-3 thrashing in Bay Area, six weeks ago, when Denver outrushed Raiders 254-31. Broncos are 4-1 at home, but only one of the wins was by more than ten points. Silver and Black are minus-13 in turnovers last eight games, and lost six of last seven, with four of the six losses by 13 or more points. Three of last four Oakland games went over the total, with Raiders allowing 30 ppg.

Rams (5-5) @ Packers (6-4)-- St Louis scored 79 pts in winning last two series games, but this is their first visit to Lambeau since '97. Packers won their last five games, as Favre put up 31.4 ppg. Rams special teams stink, and a rebuilt OL not protecting Bulger (12 sacks last three tilts); they lost three of last four games, but are 5-2 vs teams in NFC, 0-3 vs AFC clubs. Martz won seven of his last 9 Monday night games.
