Hi guys!! Im a new member to this forum and im willing to posts anything i have to help each of us win.
RED SHEET OF POINTWISE
NOVEMBER 27, 2004 VOLUME 36, NUMBER 13
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 44 - Notre Dame 10 - (8:00 EST) -- Line opened at Southern Cal minus 21, and
is now minus 22. Top-ranked Trojans have been something else over the past 3 seasons,
& altho their totally dominating efforts of '02 & '03 haven't been as numerous this year, they
are still the team to beat. Are loaded at nearly every position, which ranks in direct contrast
to the Irish, whose former talent-laden squad has been on a downward trend of late. Troy
has an eye-popping 1,161-388 yd edge over ND the past 2 years, with strikingly similar 44-
13 & 45-14 blowouts. USC has won 4 of its last 5 home games by a combined 183-16
margin, struggling only against Cal, which is light years ahead of Irish.
RATING: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 89
TEXAS TECH 49 - Oklahoma State 31 - (3:30) -- Line opened at Texas Tech minus 7½, and is now minus
5½. Altho the Raiders stand at just 6-4 SU, they are still one of the most feared teams in the
land. With Sonny Cumbie just the latest in a line of successful flingers for Tech, the Raiders
have the most potent aerial game in the land, ranking 6th in overall offense. Of course, their
defense is a problem, ranking 73rd in containing the rush, thus the 'Pokes' 7th-rated overland
squad, which ran for 352 yds a year ago, will definitely move it, but matching this host
point producer, will be a challenge. Tech is on a 9-1 ATS series run, scoring 49 pts in each
of last 3 games vs Oklie St. 'Pokes have yet to cover on the road.
RATING: TEXAS TECH 89
IOWA STATE 37 - Missouri 13 - (1:00) -- Line opened at Iowa St minus 3½, and is now minus 4. What a
difference a month makes. Thru their first 5 games, the Tigers stood at 4-1, with another
successful season a given. For the Cyclones, their 2-4 start was surely an omen of yet
another disappointing campaign. But Mizzou, after hanging tight, in narrow losses to Texas
& OklahomaSt, has bottomed out: 5 straight losses, including last wk's disgraceful showing
hosting then 3-7 Kansas, as they were held to minus 6 RYs. Iowa St, on the other hand is
on the cusp of a spot in the Big12 Title game, with 4 straight wins, including ****** of 10, 11,
& 25 pts in their last 3 outings. Momentum has rarely meant as much.
RATING: IOWA STATE 88
BOSTON COLLEGE 34 - Syracuse 10 - (1:00) -- Line opened at Boston College minus 10, and is now
minus 11½. Final regular season Big East game for the Eagles, who need this for a BCS
spot. They've been their normal steady selves this season: an 8-2 record, with their only
losses coming on a 40-yd pass in the final minute at Wake Forest, & in OT at Pitt, after
fumbling it away in the extra session. The 'Cuse needs it for a winning year, & possible bowl
shot, but their stellar RB Reyes is iffy (shoulder), & the Orange are a horrible 2-17 ATS as
conference RDs. This series has been owned by the chalk (16-4 ATS), & again.
RATING: BOSTON COLLEGE 88
Philadelphia 27 - NEW YORK GIANTS 10 - (1:00) -- Line opened at Philadelphia minus 7, and is still minus
7. In most instances, the division HD, in a revenge setup, is more than a juicy proposition.
However, this isn't one of those instances. The Eagles have weathered their downtick run,
when they narrowly escaped both Cleveland (OT), & Baltimore, & lost in ignominious fashion
at Pittsburgh (24-pt ATS loss). Those 3 came directly on the heels of opening with 5
consecutive double digit wins, by the way. But things have returned to normal, with a pair of
division routs: 28 & 22 pt SU wins. McNabb has exorcised former demons, thanks mainly to
Owens, while NY's QB situation is at the experimental stage.
RATING: PHILADELPHIA 88
DENVER 34 - Oakland 13 - (8:35) -- Line opened at Denver minus 11, and is still minus 11. The Broncos are
their normal enigmatic selves, ranking among the elite in all major categories, yet sporting
a rather innocuous 4-4-2 spread record, a record which stood at just 2-4-2, by the way,
before a pair of similar 31-13 & 34-13 rocking chair wins. Lack of focus? That being said,
concentration is never a problem for Shanahan's squad when they take on the Raiders.
Broncs stand a 13-4-1 ATS in this series, under his leadership, & no reason for that not to
continue. Broncos averaging 33.5 ppg in their last 6 division HGs. Again!
RATING: DENVER 88
