Hardly

I was having them back up everything which was a pain, because of errors etc. Reason for the backup is that the part my hard drives on right now they believe is going out and if it does I would lose all of my data thus the reason for the backup.

Next step is talking to them on Monday about what I need to do about this server. Probably going to have to buy another server to replace this one since everything on it seems to be going out.

Make it a membership only site and charge $5 a month or so much a year. I don't think it would be a big deal and then we could weed some people out and you could get a few bucks to keep it running.

I agree with you Wayne, if there are certain rules in place and it doesnt put a dent in BC's funds from advertisers.

I have to think with all the sites they have, that it would be tough to make one pay and the rest not though, especially with the advertisers.

I don't have any problems paying a small amount to use this site, but keeping non payees from connecting, could hurt Monte more in the long run. I am assuming his advertising rates are based on how many connections he gets. In fact, back when these server problems first started, my first idea would have been to close Betters Chat on weekends to anyone who has not registered, but I never mentioned it because I thought it would hurt his ad revenue. If I'm wrong and this becomes a "pay only" site, count me in to do my share. When I read what Monte is dealing with right now, I really feel for him.

Heres a solution... have the sight free to everyone, EXCEPT the service plays thread, 5 bucks a month for access to that...

My only thought ever was to put the service plays thread in a private forum section where access would be a small fee.

That's a great idea Monte. That way you get money from all the guests for viewing them.
