  • For Soccer Fans....Day 2

A write-up will be coming for the 12PM ET games and on for the day.

    *******Hungarian Arany Aszok Liga*******

    Play On: Debrecen, 10AM ET
Reason: Debrecen, along with Ferencvaros, is one of the best teams in this league. Yes, they are on the road, but they play the worst team in the league. Debrecen is 4-1-1 on the road, scoring 10 and allowing 4. Their opponent, Bekescsaba, is 1-7-4 for the year with a 1-3-2 home record, where they can only score 8 and allow 15 in those 6 games. Debrecen is too much of a powerhouse here. Debrecen is just coming off a win against Ferencvaros...that is huge.

    *******Hungarian Arany Aszok Liga*******

    Play On: Debrecen, 12PM ET
Reason: Debrecen, along with Ferencvaros, is one of the best teams in this league. Yes, they are on the road, but they play the worst team in the league. Debrecen is 4-1-1 on the road, scoring 10 and allowing 4. Their opponent, Bekescsaba, is 1-7-4 for the year with a 1-3-2 home record, where they can only score 8 and allow 15 in those 6 games. Debrecen is too much of a powerhouse here. Debrecen is just coming off a win against Ferencvaros...that is huge.

    Play On: Ferencvaros, 12PM ET
Reason: The Yankees of the Hungarian league. Ferencvaros owns this league year in and year out. The team is presently in first (what a surprise) with a 9-2-1 record, going 5-0 at home, where they have scored 18 goals and allowed only 3. Their opponent, Pecs, is a mediocre team towards the bottom half of the table. Pecs is 4-6-2, but a horrible 0-5-1 on the road, where they have only scored twice and allowed 10 goals. This is an obvious play.

Play On: NABI Kaposvar, 12PM ET
Reason: This is a game between two teams in relatively the same position in the table. Kaposvar is 5-4-3 for the year and MTK Budapest is 5-3-4. However, MTK is only 0-3-2 on the road where they have scored 4 and allowed 8. Kaposvar is 4-1-1 at home. Home field is big in this league as in most others, so taking Kaposvar is a nice play here. MTK is winless in their last 4 games.

    Play On: Ujpest, 12PM ET
Reason: Ujpest is playing excellent ball this year and is towards the top of this league. They are presently 6-2-4, losing only 1 game at home this year. Their opponent, Budapest Honved, is 4-6-2, but a horrible 0-5 on the road, scoring 5 and allowing 16. Home field is HUGE and it is a must in this game. Ujpest is playing like a Ferencvaros while Budapest Honved just plain out can't play away from Budapest.

    Play On: Vasas, 12PM ET
Reason: This game seems close, just like the MTK-Kaposvar game, but remember, home field will be huge again. Vasas and Diosygor are both 3-8-1, but Vasas has all their wins at home and Diosygor is 1-4 on the road, scoring only 4 goals in those 5 games. Diosygor lost their last two. Usually in any league, the home team of the bottom teams in a league wins.

      *******Danish National Cup*******

      Play On: Horsens, 1PM ET
Reason: Horsens is the best team in the 1st Division. They hold a 10-2-2 record in that league, where in 6 games at home, they have only allowed 3 goals. This game is in Horsens, and their opponent is Aarhus, a mediocre team in the 2nd Divison. Aaurhus is 5-5-3 in the 2nd Division. Going into the 1st Divison's home is not going to be easy.

      *******French League Cup*******

      Play On: Nantes, 1PM ET
Reason: Nantes is in Ligue I and is presently undefeated at home. They hold a 4-4-5 record, but are 3-0-3 at home, where they have only allowed 4 goals in those 6 games. Their opponent, Laval, is a mediocre team in Ligue II, with a 6-5-4 record, going 1-4-2 in Ligue II on the road. Nantes is way too strong in this match.

      *******German 3rd Nord*******

Play On: Borussia Dortmund, 1PM ET
Reason: Dortmund in this league plays excellent ball at home. The team is 4-1-1 at home, where they have scored 16 goals and allowed only 7 in those 6 games. St. Pauli is 3 spots below them in the table, but hold a 2-4-1 road record where they have only scored 7 goals in those 7 games. Dortmund is the clear favorite here at home. St. Pauli lost their last game on the road.

      *******German DFB Pokal*******

      Play On: Schalke, 1:30PM ET
Reason: Schalke, along with Werder and Bayern and Stuttgart and Wolfsburg, are the premier of the 1st Bundesliga. They are 8-4 for the year with a very respectable 3-3 record on the road in the 1st Bundesliga. Frankfurt is only 4-6-2 in the 2nd Bundesliga. A powerhouse 1st Bundesliga team going into a mediocre 2nd Bundesliga team should be an easy play.

Play On: Hansa Rostock, 1PM ET
Reason: Hansa is in last in the 1st Bundesliga, but if they can play 500 ball on the road in that league, they can definitely beat a mediocre team from the 2nd Bundesliga. Aahlen, their opponent, is 3-3-6 in the 2nd Bundes, scoring only 13 goals in those 12 games. If Hansa can beat Schalke in Schalke, they could definitely beat a 2nd Bundesliga team anywhere.

I asked him which book he uses to play the Hungarian plays and he said "5 Dimes, offers mostly every country in the world." He didn't think Pinnacle had the Hungarian plays.

            *******Belgian Jupiler League*******

            Play On: Genk, 2PM ET
Reason: Play on Genk, NOT Gent...1 letter and you're off. Genk is always a good team in this league, along with Brugge and Anderlecht. They are presently 5-2-5, and undefeated at home witha 3-0-3 home record where they have scored 8 and allowed 5. AA Gent, although slightly above them in the table, is only 2-4 on the road where they have allowed 13 goals. Genk has won 2 in a row and AA Gent has lost their last 2 on the road.

Play On: La Louviere, 2PM ET
Reason: La Louv is the surprise this year in the league. They are playing like Brugge and Anderlecht, holding a 6-4-2 record scoring 21 and allowing 12 for the year. At home, this team is 4-1-1, scoring 12 and only allowing 4. Their opponent, Sint-Truiden, is towards the bottom of the league with a 3-6-3 record, going 1-5 on the road where they have scored 4 goals and allowed 14. Obvious play here again.

            Play On: Westerlo, 2PM ET
Reason: Mons is one of the worst teams in this league. They are presently 1-8-3 scoring 11 and allowing 23. They are 0-4-2 on the road where they have scored 4 and allowed 14. Their opponent, Westerlo, is not much ahead of them in the table, but their the home team. Westerlo is 4-6-2 for the year, but have only given up 16 goals all year. Although they're 2-3-1 at home, they only gave up 6 in those 6 games. Mons' extremely poor D should have them out of this game. Westerlo is coming off a home win while Mons has lost 3 in a row.

Play On: Cercle Brugge, 2:30PM ET
Reason: Yes, I know this isn't Club Brugge, but still, this team can play at home. Cercle is 6-5-1 for the year, but 4-1-1 at home where they have put up 14 goals in those 6 games. Their opponent, Lierse, is not far behind them in the table at 5-5-2, but they are 2-4 on the road, giving up 13 goals in those 6 games. Cercle has won 2 in a row, so they have some extra momentum.

Play On: Club Brugge, 3PM ET
Reason: Club Brugge is Club Brugge...always the best team in this league. They are presently undefeated at 10-0-2, scoring 32 goals and allowing 5. That is just plain ridiculous. Their road record is a nice 5-0-1, where they have scored 16 and only allowed 4. Going into GBA shouldn't be a problem. They don't pose a threat to Club Brugge. GBA is 5-6-1 for the year. Their 4-2 record at home won't mean anything against this team. In Club Brugge's last road game, they went into Standard (another good Belgian team) and just beat them 4-1.

Play On: Willem II, 2PM ET
Reason: Willem II is one of the stronger teams in the Casino Eredivisie (Holland's Premier League)...they are presently 5-4-2 with a decent 1-2-2 road record in this top league. Their opponent, Veendam, is an average Gouden Gids Divisie team (2nd Division in Holland)...their record is 4-5-3 with only a 2-4 home record. The premier league team here (Willem) should have no problem taking the visit to Veendam and winning. Willem has only lost once in their last 5.

                Play On: Feyenoord, 2PM ET
Reason: Feyenoord at home is a must. This team is one of the best in the Casino Eredivisie with a 8-2-1 record, going 5-1 at home where they scored 21 and allowed 7. Their opponent is RKC Waalwijk, a team much lower in the same table with a 3-4-4 record. They are 1-3-2 on the road where they have only scored 7 goals in those 5 games. Big problem when going into Feyenoord. Waalwijk is winless in their last 5 in league play...Feyenoord have scored 4 goals in each of their last 3 home games, winning 2 of them 4-0 and 1 4-2.

                Play On: Vitesse, 2PM ET
Reason: Vitesse is one of the better teams in this league as well. They are 5-4-2 with a very respectable road record of 3-2, scoring 14 and allowing 10 on the road. Their opponent, Den Bosch, has allowed 30 goals for the year so far. Absolutely no D. Bosch is 2-7-2 for the year, scoring only 9 goals in those 11 games. They are 2-4 at home, scoring 6 and allowing 15. Vitesse is a much better and disciplined squad.

If anyone can invest on NAC Breda, just do it. NAC is in the Casino Eredivisie, and a better than average team in that league as well. They travel to play a team that isn't in their league or the league below them, the Gouden Gids. ADO 20 plays in an even lower league...whatever the line is, just take NAC...they will win no matter what.

                  Play On: Milan, 2:30PM ET
Reason: Milan, the team owned by Italy's own Prime Minister...they are just stacked with players...they go to Brescia which shouldn't be a problem. Milan has only lost once all season...they are 6-1-2, where they are 4-0 on the road, scoring 6 and only allowing 1. The team is presently in 2nd place and fighting to stay with Juve. Brescia is only 4-6 with a 2-3 home record. The team has scored only 10 goals all season (Milan has scored 16 and only allowed 7). Brescia also has only scored 4 goals in 5 home games. Brescia has lost their last 2, in Livorno and at home against Siena.

                  Play On: Inter, 2:30PM ET
Reason: Inter is undefeated but not with a great record (2-0-8). The team just hasn't finished...well, it won't be hard to finish when they are playing home against a poor Bologna team. Bologna is 1-3-1 on the road this season. You gotta figure Vieri and co will start to turn things around.

                  Play On: Juventus, 2:30PM ET
Reason: I like Fiorentina alot (I was in Florence for 4 months)...but Juve is just ridiculous this year...Fiorentina can play at home, but not on the road...Juve is 8-1-1 for the year, scoring 21 and allowing 4. They are undefeated at home, going 4-0-1, scoring 10 and only allowing 2. Fiorentina is a respectable 3-2-5, but 1-1-3 on the road, scoring only 4 in those 5 games. AFter losing in Reggina, Juve will be looking to go all out and not play around at all. My man Buffon won't let any past him.

Consider Lecce as well...they are hot this year and can score goals...Siena is a low scoring team and not with a great home record...if Lecce can keep the ball out of their own net, they should win this game no problem...just a thought

                    Albacete

All these Primera teams are playing not even Segunda teams, but low amateur teams...all locks

Also, like Man U today at home against a horrible Crystal Palace...

Taking a shot with Liverpool at home...playing a good Middlesbrough, but Liverpool playing in their town
Also taking Chelsea...by far the best team this year...Newcastle doesn't intimidate me that much...Chelsea is 4-1-1 on the road in season play allowing only 2 goals...also taking Fulham...a decent Premier team playing against a horrible Championship team...i don't care if it in Nottingham, Fulham will win.

Taking a shot with the Rangers at home against Celtic...both teams historically the best in this league...Rangers playing a little better this year
