NCAA Football - Toledo @ Northern Illinois....
I really like this play for Tuesday night.....
5 STAR: Toledo (+7)(-$120) OVER NORTHERN ILLINOIS
This is a huge game for both of these teams. A win by Northern Illinois would eliminate Toledo from the MAC West championship race and send the Huskies to the MAC title game. A win over the Huskies would put the Rockets in the driver's seat to claim a share of the MAC West Division title. I think this line is very high, considering the history of this series that has been totally dominated by Toledo. The Rockets have won 10 straight games against Northern Illinois and they are 8-1-1 against the spread in those games. When we look at this years match up, it appears as if we could have a shoot out here. Northern Illinois runs the ball very well, they are 10th in the nation in rushing at 239 yards per game, while the Toledo defense has had trouble stopping the run this season as they rank just 66th in the nation in run defense. If we flip things around we find that Toledo is 4th in the nation in passing offense at 310 yards per game and the Northern Illinois defense has struggled defending the pass, ranking 71st in the nation. Being that both teams should struggle to stop the other teams offense I think the points are very valuable here, not to mention the fact that you are giving a touchdown to a team that has had your number for ten straight games. Take the points here!
