Re: I am a little concerned over the record keeping on the consensus reports
Originally posted by career I pay for The Wiseguys Sports and have for almost 10 years. These are his accurate results..
26-12 +60.0 Units -nfl
24-22 +5.5 Units-college
50-34 + 65.5 Units combined
POD's 15-8 on the season
Basically his numbers on the report are completely out of line, but what scares me is how accurate some of the others are that I am not as close with...I go by those records when picking and chosing a capper to follow...Does anyone else feel the same way?
Savage1...I know you follow Wiseguys too...
I've wondered the same thing about the records. Trotter does a good job of tracking all of them and should be commended but some of records may be misleading. For instance, for Northcoast (who I follow religously). The records listed are 75-68 for NCAA and 24-27 for NFL. That's a combined 99-95 and a winning % of only 51%. However, Northcoast has done much better than that this season. Perhaps Trotter tracks ALL of the services' plays (i.e., opinions, had to picks, etc.) and applies no individual weight to them.
Northcoast is much better than 51% on the season. For college late phone plays (3* and higher), they are 34-23 (60%) and +34.9 units. For NFL, they are 14-12-2 (54%) and +0.55 units. That's a combined 48-35-2 (58%). 58% is a hell of a lot better than the indicated 51%.
