  • MLB - Question About Teams Down 3-0

Last week, when Boston was down 3-0, someone posted here that in the 25 times this has happened in the Playoff's, the team behind lost Game Four 20 out of 25 times. Now it's 20 out of 26. Does anyone know what the numbers are for just the World Series. After watching St. Louis go completely flat after retard Sapan changed everything, they look like a team just waiting to be swept. If the World Series numbers are as one sided as they are for all the playoffs, I'm going to be all over Boston to end it tonight.

I heard this stat this morning on Mike & Mike of ESPN Radio. If I remember the stat correctly. In the World Series, the team that is leading three games to zero has a 17-3 record in Game 4. So, that bodes well for the Red Sox to sweep.

Thanks Bobby. I hope your memory is good because there is a better chance of a 4 game sweep in the World Series, (17 out of 20) than in just the playoffs (3 out of 6). Before I sell my first born so I can bet on Boston, if anyone can confirm or correct the WS stat, I would feel better.

Unbelievable as it may seem, 17 out of 20 teams that led the series 3 to 0 completed the sweep! The other three won the series in 5 games! Heard it on SportsCenter today!

That said, I am taking the Cards today, just because they have been so good at home. I think the middle of the Cards order is just too good to be shut down by a mediocre at best Derek Lowe. GL to all.

heleanth. Thanks for confirming the info. It is unbelieveble which is why I can't bet against something that has happened 85% of the time. Also mediocre Lowe 1 hit the Yankees for 6 innings his last start. GL to you.
