      Wayne,

Sorry..I did a generic search for Red Sox tickets..saw a bunch..but give it more time.

As you get closer to the game you will see more people list..or track some auctions and put bids in.

I have a few tricks to the trade if you need them let me know (ESnipe).

When I bot the Suns tickets I looked as you did, at brokers..on other sites, in the phone book etc..and EBay had them the cheapest.

Of course if the Sox are close to winning and you wait, the prices are going to be higher and conversely if they do poorly the tickets will go for cheaper.

A bummer is that the MLB doesnt have a fan ticket exchange like the NBA does..the NBA lets fans sell tickets on their nba.com website.

One last thing..I found that MANY of the sellers for tickets are brokers/agencies anyway..or do a ton of volume.

I will keep looking for you..

sox ticket prices are out of control. I called my broker in Providence and he has 8 seats $1500 a piece. Ouch. And that is for game 2. Which is the game I'm looking for 2 seat for. Does anyone know the actual printed face value pricing of the sox tickets for games 1,2,6,7?? thanks

Not much cheaper in St Louis. $500 per ticket for standing room. Was there last night and worth every penny.

a friend of mine owns season tickets to red sox. he sold 4 seats for game one for 12.000 today. they are just off the field near dugout. i guess it's against the rules for season ticket holders but he's doing it anyway. he tells me game 2 should bring in 20,000 easy. i said to him "aren't you going to go to a game?" and he replied "uh no but i do hope they go 7". lol i guess if they do he stands to make maybe 60k. not bad for a reasonable investment.

i understand the cheep seats can get over a dime some of which people got by mailing in their names to a lottery which determined who would get tix. good to see good old capitalism is alive and well at americas pastime.

prices arent comin down on these tickets...couple reasons why....#1 there are a LOT of red sox season ticket holders...#2 fenway only holds 35K compared to other places that hold 50K++....#3 boston is a big money city and rich folk that havent gone to a game all year long, dish out big money so true fans like myself cannot go...#4 is been 86 years and people want to say, they were there when they finally won it...there's just way too much demand for a supply that simply aint there...

once they got in the playoffs, i entered my name and a couple other family members in hope of winning the ticket lottery and forgot about even looking for tickets...unless you know someone who has tickets and offers to take you...GOODLUCK getting a ticket unless you feel like dishing out big bucks...and i aint paying $1000 for a single to game1 at fenway...ill be on lansdown with my buddies and go to jillians and have a blast with the other red sox fans....once the world series starts half the park is full of executives and mlb officials and higher ups from the other mlb teams....its nothing like regular season games...

id love to be inside the park to see them play in the world series but IMO there's still nothing better than a nice warm friday night game in the middle of august when you can wear a tee shirt sit back in the $44 grandstand seats with your girlfriend or whomever and just enjoy the game....

Well it's done. I wanted game 6 next saturday with Schilling the scheduled Pitcher. After looking last night from the East Coast to the West Coast for tickets and taking about 4 hours to do it i settled on the 2 i bought. Basically you see the same tickets at 1,000 different sites and you need to find the best price.

I bought 2 tickets @ $1,335 each which came to $2,670 plus the fees and the grand total was $3,070.50.

They all charge that damn 7%-10% service charge. They had some @ $1,225, and a bunch of different sections @ $1,335 each (about 40 tickets). Today the same site still has plenty of tickets but the cheapest one is $1,700. They already sold out all the others and with every day the price is going UP! These numbers are all for game 6 here too as i had no interest in the others.

We grabbed a hotel for the night @ $250 and we wanted to go a little cheaper but everything within 10 miles of Fenway was booked except for 2 rooms at a Hilton or Holiday Inn (i forget now) so we reserved it. The Trip will basically run close to 4 Grand when all is said and done but damn it i'm going to the WORLD SERIES! (Hopefully there is a gm. 6)

Tony, brother, i really don't care. I know they can lose but i have never been to a World Series game and win or lose, i will have the memories of the night FOREVER! It is the toughest and Hottest ticket i personally have ever seen anywhere and i have 2 so i'm happy. :D

                        GO SOX

Wayne, what if they win it (or lose it) within the first 5 games? Are you just screwed on that money?

Wayne glad you got the tickets, I know you'll enjoy it. I went with my dad to the Pirates last World Series game. It was 24 years ago and I can still remember the feelings that came over me that day.
