  • Astros-Cardinals Lets Roll $$$

Want to congratulate Wayne/Boston Red Sox for breaking the curse of the Babe! Always love to see the Yankees take an early exit!

    Tonights Game

Houston's starting lineup is 58 for 171 lifetime vs Suppan for a .339 BAA, with 4 HR's, 14 doubles, 1 triple, averaging 1 extra base hit every 8.5 at bats.

Cardinals starting lineup is 26 for 118 lifetime vs Clemens for a .220 BAA, with 5 HR's, 3 doubles, averaging 1 extra base hit every 14.7 at bats.

Suppan with the Cardinals is 1-5 against the Astros; pitching 36.2 innings, allowing 43 hits, 22 runs, 17 earned runs, 5 HR's, 11 BB's, and striking out 18 batters. He lost 2-5 at Houston, lost 4-6 at, lost 5-7 vs, lost 2-3 vs, won 5-3 at, and lost 3-5 vs. The season before with the Pirates he was 1-2 vs the Astros. His teams are 2-7 vs the Astros in his last 9 starts against them.

Clemens has done an outstanding job pitching against the Red Birds. He is 4-0 in his last 6 starts against St Louis; pitching 40.1 innings, allowing 28 hits, 11 runs, 11 earned runs, 5 HR's, walking 13 batters and striking out 39 batters. He's gone at least 6 innings in each outing, but hasn't pitched past the 7th inning in his last 6 starts against them. In his last 2 starts at St Louis, he's pitched 13.2 innings and only allowed 2 total runs.

I am playing the Astros with Clemens +1.02 for 10 units to win 10.2 units and here's why!

    1. Clemens has been very successful against the Cardinals in his career.
    2. Clemens has the advantage over Suppan with his big game experience and I consider Clemens as being a true warrior when he takes the field. He's all business!
    3. The Astros have some pretty decent batting averages vs Suppan.
    4. The curse of the Babe has been broken with the Red Sox, why not break 2 records in one year with a first world series being between 2 wild card teams!
    5. Why wouldn't Clemens want to really shine tonight, with the chance to play his old team in the world series!

play it or fade it, the decision is yours!
