OCD
Jballs and everyone else who may feel I owe an apology to. On Monday I posted OCD 5* MNF total as the under, not the over. I received that play from a my consensus service. It seems that I was not the only one either in Monday's post that had the MNF under. And as Bernard mentioned, it seems that the consensus services were duped with the MNF total.
Last night Alascott purchased the OCD 5* play and it was Boston Under. Fleetfox had the Boston Over. And I my consensus service has Boston Over. Sounds like OCD may be giving out both sides to his play, something to keep in mind. But getting back to my original purpose, I am sorry for the MNF total post.

Bobbyk... no need to apologize for trying to help out, if jballs read the entire thread on Mon he would have realized what happened...the OCD 5* plays were wrong on the consensus services on Sat(Northwestern), Mon(Under) and tues(over)... the only way to guarantee a play with 100% accuracy would be to buy them directly, which most of us do not do... if anyone is owed an apology it is you.

Current year to date record:
NCAA 18-11/+19.45 Units
NFL 9-6/+11.4 Units
NFLX 21-13-1/+16.7 Units
Total 48-30-1/+47.55 Units, 62.5%
One game tonight as the WVU Mountaineers travel to UConn for the biggest home game in Huskies history. The Huskies will be playing a ranked team at home for the first time ever and it will be on national TV.
I was in Virginia Beach when WVU played Virginia Tech at Blacksburg and was able to watch the game. What I saw was a Mountaineer team that had trouble running the ball and a mobile QB that overthrew several open recievers down the sidelines and across the middle while seemingly forced to stay in the pocket. It seems that Rich Rodriguez has changed the style of play of Rasheed Marshall and wants to keep him in the pocket more, utilizing the running game. It appears that combined injuries to the knee, ankle and hamstring will keep Kay-Jay Harris out of tonight's game, even though he travelled with the team to UConn. Jason Colson will replace him and is a good back and his stats are decent. He has 295 yards on 66 carrries for a 4.5 ypc average with 4 TD's. He doesn't have the breakaway speed that Harris does and may have more difficulty breaking the line of scrimmage with the recent problems in the running game for the WVU offensive line.
UConn returns 8 starters from last year's offense and Dan Orlovsky is a premier QB in the NCAA. The UConn offense has struggled a bit lately, trailing Duke at home into the 4th quarter before pulling out a 22-20 win. UConn is only even in turnovers this year and have scored only 8 TD's in the red zone in 19 trips inside the 20 yard line. They will need to improve on that number to have any chance to beat WVU. Coming off a bye week, UConn and Coach Edsall spent time reviewing game film of their own team, trying to find ways to improve offensively. I think that while UConn is on the rise as a program and will bring some respect back to the Big East down the road, they are taking a big step up in class from what they have seen so far this year. Home wins vs. Duke and Murray State are nothing special and they caught Army while Bobby Ross was still implementing his systems. The Huskies haven't faced a team like WVU so far and while they will have 37,000 screaming fans for this ESPN game, I think that the Husky defense will have some trouble containing Rasheed Marshall and that the WVU offensive line will show much better than they did against a very tough VT defense. I expect the Mountaineers to control the line of scrimmage, keep the Husky running game in check and make Dan Orlovsky throw balls into coverage. Turnovers will play a role in this game and West Virginia will come away with a win on the road against a very game, but overmatched UConn team.
3* West Virginia -6.5
Good Luck in whatever you play tonight... back tomorrow with an update.
I also think Curt Schilling is hurt worse than he or the Sox are letting on... he is a gamer, one of the toughest around but he looked terrible. Without him, I can't see Boston getting past the Yanks. Which pisses me off to no end...
Personally, I would have pulled Timlin last night before letting him pitch to Bernie Williams when the Sox had closed to one run, but what do I know. Shades of Grady Little?

Northcoast's bargain comp. pick for today is Arizona State.
Why is a "bargain" comp. pick you ask?
Well, actually the bargain lies not in the line on ASU, but on the fact that I received the pick after "only" 2 minutes and 10 seconds of waiting rather than the usual boring 5 minutes of having to listen to Phil tell us what he has told us a zillion times before about PowerSLeep, his late phone service, 5*picks etc.
Could I be dreaming or maybe Phil is getting sick of hearing himself talk?;on the other hand, as they say in sports, one day means nothing.Last edited by savage1; 10-13-2004, 02:33 PM.

Tinfoil-call Phil's 800 number if you don't believe me-1-800-4758168.
It appears Phil gives out different comp. plays depending on where you live.
On the other hand, I am sure he doesn't have more than one speech to deliver everyday regarding his service to those who can endure it.:D

Phil must have put you to sleep.
Today was his Big Ten Play which was on Ohio State over Iowa. While he is on ASU in his newsletter, this was not on the comp line today. I waited those 19 hours to get it earlier. lol
It's amazing that Phil has any time left in his day to handicap games after putting up all those three hour messages on his phones... or maybe that's the problem...
