I would think that if anyone believes Sebastian is right about the scenario, then he should withhold some of series bet, as if Sox win tonight, you will get much better odds with Yanks than if you take them before tonight's game.
On the other hand, it could be risky to do that because if Yanks win tonight, then line will shift dramatically in their favor.
Above was just a thought; as long as Sox win tonight AND the series, I will be happy.

The series all of the world has been waiting for begins this evening as the well rested Red Sox invade Yankee Stadium looking to put an end to their World Series curse once and for all. Every possible thing went Boston's way in their first round series vs. Anaheim, but now their true test begins. The Red Sox have been dominated by the Yankees in post-season play the last few year's, yet they've been installed as large chalks to win this series. I just don't think they deserve the right to be installed as such high favorites in this series since they haven't proven they can beat this team when it matters most. Don't get me wrong though, I actually believe they will finally get over the hump, but they'll have to face some adversity at first. Curt Schilling has never won in Yankee Stadium, and all three of his wins over the Yanks came in the comfy confines of Fenway this year. Both his starts in NY were all low scoring pitching duels which saw him go at least 7 innings. I foresee the same thing happening this evening. Mike Mussina has been the Yankees hottest pitcher down the stretch, and it was his offense that failed him in Game 1 of their ALDS vs. the Twins. He pitched great going 7 innings with 7 K's, and 1 walk while giving up 2 ER's .I look for more of the same from him tonight as well. With everyone so amped up about the Red Sox finally getting over the hump, look for the Yanks to make the majority of the public sick after they steal Game 1 in a low scoring affair vs. Schilling and his bum ankle.

Thats a little confusing on the post about mike rose. It looks like the first post says he is on the yanks and the next paragrapgh it looks like he is on Boston? Need a little help? Thanks
wallstreet, do you only post negative posts? You are the first to jump on someones ass, otherwise you have nothing to post, take a break....
If you have nothing positive to add, don't add anything........
Who died and made you GOD?
This is really getting sickening......
Would someone please remind the last time the sox beat the yanks in the playoffs? oh yeah never, and almost a century since they won the world series, thats a lot of baggage weighing on these guys, maybe they can finally break the curse, I hope not
Game: Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees Oct 12 2004 8:00PM
Prediction: over
Reason: Both offenses have been red-hot. Both bullpens have been a little shaky. The yankees were shut out in Game 1 vs. Minnesota then scored 7 runs/game in the next three. The Red sox averaged 8.33 runs/game in sweeping the Angels. Over!
The comp play run stands at 52-32 the last 84, and tonight I am looking for Curt Schilling and Mike Mussina to take care of business, and help keep Game 1 of the ALCS under the posted total.
There should be plenty of goose eggs on the Yankee Stadium scoreboard tonight as the starters dominate and keep both powerhouse lineups in check.
Well, what can you say about these Baseball playoff totals? I hit all 4 I released last week so obviously I am coming strong with # 5 in a row tonight.
Pitchers duel tonight with Schilling and Mussina and I see this game one going under the total.
Schilling is a post season pitcher and hard to hit. Mussina has been unhittable lately. These two will pitch a great game and runs will be hard to come by.
My 5th straight free pick baseball playoff total winner is the UNDER tonight.
The over may look like the play with these hot-hitting lineups, but Schilling will be forcing Mussina into a pitchers' duel, the same we saw him battle Johan Santana in Game 1 of the ALDS.
In both of these pitchers' last three starts, they've given up only a handful of run, as Schilling has a 1.63 ERA and Mussina has a 3.79 ERA.
Can the Red Sox ever beat these guys? Last year they had a 5-2 lead in the eight inning in the deciding seventh game of this series, only to see it slip away as Aaron boone hit the game-winning HR in the 11th inning to propel the Yankees past the BoSox yet again. Get ready for a bruising series. I like Mussina and the Yankees in this one. Boston struggles on the road vs. good teams. They are just 1-6 (-6.1 Units) against the money line in road games when playing against a top-level team (Win Pct. > 62%) this season. The Yankees face Shilling who is on fire. But, the Bombers are 9-2 (+7.3 Units) against the money line in home games vs. an AL starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.200 or better this season. The Yankees win in the playoffs and to get them as a home underdog is a blessing. These two teams are very evenly matched so with that alone, the underdog is worth a hard look. One unit on the Yankees.
