  • Are My Eyes Deceiving Me?

My beloved Red Sox are a 170 favorite over the Yankees;I had to pinch myself to see if that was the real line.
I am shocked considering Yanks finished first first, get the odd home game and since (gulp) Sox have always failed against the Yanks in big games and won zilch since 1918.
    All comments are welcome.

    Not Me!!

Im not suprised one bit, Im a Yankee fan & I think Boston is the Better team. If they don't go to the series this year, they never will. I can't stand Yankee/Red Sox games anymore, they take years off my life.

I think the Sox roll in this series. Pitching will win it for them. Both teams have great bats and the BoSox pitching is way better.

Looking at a 6 game series with the RED SOX TAKING THEM DOWN

I hope you guys are right, as I have been waiting since 1952(yup-I have been a diehard since I was 8).
Having a little wager at 6.5-1(made at beginning of season) to win the WS doesn't hurt either.

Speaking of whether my eyes are deceiving me ,I just checked Ebay and Stubhub for availability of tickets at Fenway for game 3(first game at Fenway).
While the majority of tickets were going in the $500-$600 range, they escalated into the thousands depending on how good they are.
Someone was actually asking $5000 for one field box seat.
My god-you could buy at least 2 state of the art HDTV sets for that price.
Well, on the other hand, $5000 is a drop in the bucket iif you are a multimillionaire and want to see the game;unfortunately that doesn't apply to me.

            Sox/Yanks

Yankee pitching will let them down. I am really hoping that the Sox bats kick the NY pitching staff hard. If the Twins hold on with Nathan in game two, we are talking MN/Bos. here. Obviously, past history will play a role here with these two teams.
That said, $5000 for a ticket is nuts.

IF nathan holds on? I am sick of hearing this crap!!! How about if rivera holds on this never happens?? IF IF IF!!!! How about its no coincidence since the yanks set the ML record for comeback wins!!!!

              Redsox vs Yankee pitching?

Schilling on the road and injured is a little skeptical? But he is greta in playffs! Yanks OWN pedro martinez! Boston bullpen is worst i have seen in years and arod is carrying the load!

              Yanks win in 5!

Update-Curiously, one can pick up a ticket for first game tomorrow at Yankee Stadium for a mere $177;Sox tickets(Fenway) are at least 3 times that for cheapest ticket for first game played there.
Get this-I wanted to see what highest price would be for a possible game 7 of World Series at Fenway should that occur.
It must be "bargain" day today, as top rated ticket sells for a "mere" $6829.

Tony-that is true, but dom't forget that population of NewYork City and surrounding areas is much bigger than Sox immediate area;thus the difference in seating capacity would apper to be somewhat negated.
Personally, I think it is because frustrated Sox fans, unlike Yankees fans, have been shutout of a WS since 1918 and thus are willing to pay up the ass to be a part of history should this be the year when they finally get it done.
ps without being nosy, I would like to know what you paid for the ticket, and whether it is a scalper's ticket or not;also where is it located?
                      thanks
