  • Las Vegas sports book question

I'm a regular Vegas visitor but need some help on something. I'll be going out in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a Vegas book that allows you to buy points. All offshores allow this but I'm not aware of any casino books that do. The last time I was at one of the MGM/Mirage casinos and they wouldn't let me do it, nor would any of the Caesars/Ballys properties.

Does anyone know of a book where you can buy points for the extra dime in juice?? I know...I know...manydon't believe in buying points but I will occasionally do it. Anyone who knows for sure would be appreciated....

    I'll ask

Your not allowed to phone in sportsbooks here, but what is neat is that if you are local with a local id, you can set up an account and phone your bets in directly to the sportsbook, but from a landline only. The Orleans Casino offers that, Im not sure about the rest. But this weekend I will ask when I go about your questions.

I was at the Stardust a couple weeks ago and the guy laughed at me when I asked if I could buy points.

You can buy points at the Orleans. I have only bought the hook though when necessary.

Damn, i never knew that you couldn't buy points there...i'm going to Vegas from Oct 20th-26th, that's some good info to know.

What are the best sportsbooks in Vegas to watch the games? For example, a lot of TV's and that little tuner box on your table where you can listen to any game...

FWIW, I'm in Vegas right now and speak from experience that you can buy points. I did so on Sunday at Paris casino. I've never tried to buy anything when the number was an even 3 though. I'm not sure what that policy would be....

Vegas Sportsbooks are WAAAAY behind the times

They don't have volume control at desks or chairs. Bally's does have a nice book in that they have little TV sets at your chair and you can flip thru the games, but that's the only one I know, and I don't think you get volume there, either.

Bellagio is the best for service. One of the few books with free drinks to bettors. I go there often, but there's not much seating. Mandalay Bay has a huge area, but like most, you have to crain your neck upwards to watch the games from the floor, unless you're by the bar. This is a big problem with most places. Bally's is a theater set up so your looking straight ahead, a big plus.

Sportsbars are much better for watching the games as far as volume and comfort. However, you'd have to phone your wagers in since there's no book, which does you no good if you're needing a place to bet.

It is very hard to find a book that lets you buy the half. And forget on or off of 3. You will get laughed at, unless there's one somebody knows about that I don't.
Please don't question my record or I will leave!!!!

You didn`t mention if or not you were staying on -off Strip, but Stardust, MGM and Orleans are a few good one`s.....You also might want to go online to Hotels.com, and check out the casinos` amenities there, as those `boxes` on the tables are probably video monitors for the race tracks.....GL today

                          Onedummy...

Who do you think has the best lines here in town? I think it's pretty much a toss up, but like to stay at the local casinos.
