BC.-Monte and the board...a test to solve your access problem

Monte.....don't know if you are on line or not but one thing tomorrow will be certain is that access will be next to nil.

How about a test to see where the TRUE load is coming from....this is just a babble on my part and I welcome input positive or negative but not getting on at all is not the answer.

WIZ mentioned pay for clicks because his thread hit over a grand today. EZ winners posts early and his pushing 3k. Homer and few other may approach the grand mark when hot and fall off off to the couple hundred when it goes cold quickly in a mere day or two like it does for everyone.

The one constant and maybe now two that you have is the services thread and the newletters.....both good and I have no problem with either. But those by themselves hit the 13k and quad k plus on their own.....so maybe you need to put "JUST THOSE in a small pay for click area."?

My test proposal to see where "the interest" lies is for one day next weekend...either Saturday or Sunday....your choice.....the day before all the REGULARFREE POSTERS ON THIS SITE SUCH AS KMANN, COVERB, LEWIS, HOMER, SHORTY, CHUCK LAZER, WIZ, KNOCK,....ETC ETC ETC.....POST NO PLAYS FOR THAT DAY.......

Meaning not the night before or the morning of for those games. Then take the late time for the PM games (again either Sat or Sun for CFB/NFL/MLB) and allow the "Regulars" to post their late plays for the remainder of that day and see what your server traffic encounters. Make sure it is ADVERTISED a couple days ahead of time that the free posts will not be up.

I know the down side is people will miss out on great plays for that small window but it JUST MAY be a damn site better than people MISSING OUT ON A LOT OF THESE PLAYS EVERY WEEKENDBECAUSE ONE CAN NOT ACCESS THE SITE!

Please bear in mind this is ONLY MY OPINION AS A UNIQUE OPTION NOT EXPLORED yet but it MAY just point you to EXACTLY where your access problem is coming from.

AGAIN......JHMO but it is frustrating not even being able to get on for weekends and sometimes not able to get out very good game breaking information!

but it all boiles down to the money.
its all about show me the money---
listen a guy or company that has at least 5 web sites all the advertisers on here and the other sites and then selling consensus plays on one of the sites and it more than likely the service thread causing most of the problem hell it was hit over 35 thousand times, and that is the majority of the reason people are here for not saying everyone is or anythign liek that but i dont see a seperate site trying to sell any of the posters or everyday peoples picks here.

need to put money back into the site , since i am pretty sure they are making a great deal of money from the site. maybe not as much as i think but then again it might be alot more than i think also.
but i will say it again liek i did last week
i wont pay for plays and services and then pay this site and then for me to come on here and spend the time and spend my money and then pay to come on here to give them away
sorry if it comes to that then i guess i will find another site to post them on or not post them at all.

there is alot of good people and great info other than the services on here but i guess we all lived and survived before we got to this site and we can after we leave also.

or if its going to be a pay as u go or somekind of pay site then they can pay me to post what i have and for our posts also then.
iwonder what kind of profit margin there is for a site liek this or the other 4 sites that are partner sites is.
you mean to keep that money coming in they cant upgrade their server to keep the money coming in or hell do they got to have that money coming in and then get money from us also hell then out of this problem all that would do is make their profit margin increase so hell thats a good problem to have and next time someone want s a raise or more profits all they have to do is run a slower server or old server and then wait for us the posters to bitch and raise hell then let us send money for a new server ,
if im going to start paying for upgrades and to upkeep a site just liek a business then i need to be part owner and need to get some of the profits also.
liek i said before also i am sure out of all those service plays that peopel on here buy and pay for out of their own damn pockets i am sure more than likely you can pay the consensus web site the weekly fee and find some of the same plays that are bought and paid for on this sight and go overe there and see that they get some of the consensus plays from this site then go over there and sell them over there
i think probably thats theres enough profit on these sites to pay for a damn server upgrade but its apparant that this will not be fixed until we spit up some money to do it.

well good luck and i may pay some but you will not see anythign form me that i bought and paid for posted here if i have to pay to use a sight i wont pay for plays and consensus and or services then pay to use this site and then come over here and spend my time and then give them away for free

Thanks for your input.....I see your side.....I seldom if ever get over to the service thread as there is just too much crap on it....

You have valuable information that many can use and that is good.....I have poked my head into the service area once in awhile when I like a play and see if most of the services have it as well....if they do.....I make it a no play or go the other way....Virgina was a great example today....I never looked at until my play went down as a 5*.....go over there later and lo and behold it was everywhere.

Anyway.....bottom line is I do not need either the headache or the politics on the access issue as neither do you or any other of the users.......This site is fun and good and full of good info and people....Maybe going elsewhere by some of us would ease the issue as well and leave the site to a core group of users....that is another possibility I guess.....I have always been flexible and just try to assist if possible......BEST OF LUCK TO YOU THICK! I don't think anyone should be thinking about leaving this site. The pay as you click thing I was talking about is for the guests that flood the site, not the people that make this site what it is. On any given day there are always more guests on than members, if those guests had to pay to view it may be a little different. I don't know about everyone here, but I do know I put a lot of time into what I do and I'm sure that my time is as valuable as anyone else's.
Monte mentioned to use the sponsors, do you think the guests give a rats ass about his sponsors? I think not. They are here to get all they can for FREE.
I agree, most of us that are members now were lurkers at one time, but this site is overwhelmed with guests at game time.

There is noway BC can become a pay site. It would kill BC economically. I know we may get irritated with the server problems but you have to look through BC's point of view as far as running a business. It would be a horrible economical move. Consider these

99% of his competitors are free

99% of forums are free and there are tons of forums

who would pay for this site? You'd be surprised how low the number would be

why would someone pay when there are hundreds and hundreds of free
forums.

people love the Internet because it is free public access to the world. that's what makes the Internet so special. do you pay for the porn sites you visit? no. do you pay to go to ESPN r other sport sites to get injury reports, etc.? no. how bout all the sites we use for other gambling information like injuries, lines, consensus, schedules, team info, player info, etc; do we pay for these sites to get their info? no. so every site we all use to benefit us or for enjoyment we get for free. So, how is BC supposed to buck the trend and become pay without suffering long term. He makes his money off ads. No one would pay.

Why do you think people come here in the first place? Because they want free plays. I agree it makes no sense logically. Makes no sense that gamblers are willing to bet thousands on a game but they won't pay a few dollars on a service or site. That's how gamblers are. They have zero concept of monetary logic. These guest come in here and go nuts over the service plays cause they're saving money from paying for them.

I just think its a recipe for disaster cause BC would be on a lonely island if they go pay. People would just move onto the next forum. BC has to think of his own pockets fellas.

I've talked with you one on one via email about servers, forums, etc, etc. Is there something that "we" as a group here can do for you.

You mentioned the equipment you have, but honestly I don't know relative to the market, if that's good or not. Is there a way for "us" to assist you in upgrading if possible, and if so, then how many of "us" would be able to do so, or would like to help in that cause in order to make this site faster on those high traffic days? Would you be willing to accept such an offer?

This is a good chance for "us" as members of your forum to step up and give a little back to you. Not a service charge, but more of a donation for what you've done for us by running this site. I would like to see you're input on whether or not this is an option, and also others here on whether they'd be williing to help as well. Thank you!

I'm going to do an upgrade its just me figuring out which upgrade is the best. So no one will need to pay to access the site as i'm not going that route.
