Prediction: NC State

Reason: N.C. State had a bye week while Ohio State struggled against Marshall but got a win. Expect Ohio State to struggle on offense. The players performance level will be in a descending mode. Ohio State is 2-8 ATS on the road in regular season games since 2002. Expect a solid performance on both sides of the ball from N.C. State.

Indiana has lost the yardage battle by 400+ yards in the last two games but, thanks to an overwhelming plus in turnover ratio (9-4), the Hoosiers are 2-0. Indiana has beaten Kentucky once in the last nine years (with Antwan Randle-El) and the Hoosiers are just 1-9 ATS in their last ten road games when not an underdog of +10 or more. We look for Kentucky to bounce back here against the worst 2-0 team in the nation.

1* OPINION – CONNECTICUT (+) over Boston College by 4 at 8 PM EST on ESPN2
It’s time for some Big East football! That’s right! Connecticut will be playing its first game as a football member of the Big East Conference.

For those of you that think the Huskies don’t stand a chance against the Eagles you may want to read on. Quietly, UConn has won seven straight dating back to last season and have looked dominant in the process. Even more remarkable, in their last 18 games, the Huskies have won the stats 17 times! Except for their home finale last year against Rutgers, Connecticut has owned both sides of the ball averaging 472.4 yards per game on offense and allowing only 305.3 yards per game on defense!

Last year, Boston College traveled to Storrs and pulled off the 24-14 victory. That was UConn’s first blemish at brand new Rentschler Field. You know what they say about paybacks men. At home matched up against an opponent that enters off a straight up win, the Eagles have landed posting a dismal 14-32-1 SU and 17-30 ATS record. In that role priced as a dog of +6 up to a favorite of -14, BC has really struggled posting a shocking 5-20 ATS mark. Meanwhile, UConn stands 17-7 ATS in its last 14 road tilts.

Don’t forget, this will be the last year for Boston College as a member of the Big East Conference. Next season, the Eagles will fly over to the ACC. Rest assured, the current members of the BEAST will ALL want to send BC packing with an “L”.

Since November 1st, 2002, Connecticut has posted a strong 15-3 SU record. Behind the arm of quarterback Dan Orlovsky watch Connecticut pull off this shocker!

Message: Both teams come in with 2-0 records with Boston College upsetting Penn St last week as a +4 dog. However, they shouldn't be laying this number today to a very solid UCONN team. The short week is less of a concern for UCONN as they are 9-2 ATS when playing with a short week of rest, while Boston College will have trouble getting up for this one coming off their upset win. UCONN is also a solid road team at 10-2 ATS on the road last couple years, and that includes a mark of 6-1 ATS on the road in early season games. They are also a solid 8-0 ATS on the road off a home game and 9-2 on the road in non-conference play. Despite their win last week, Boston College is just 10-10 ATS at home last three seasons, including a 1-5 ATS mark last year and 2-5 ATS mark last seven. They are not a team that plays well in the favorite role as indicated by their poor showing against Ball State earlier this season where they struggled as a 17 1/2 pt fav.
