ill, I agree that tally is awful good but always remember there are a ton of rookies that view this thread daily and to make that statement may cause a lot of people to bet way over their means... It is just another sporting event that has to be played.. and everyone knows anything can happen on any given day...Hope this makes some sense..... Good Luck to everyone here...

The Padres come into tonight's match-up with the NL West leading Dodgers with scorching bats. They're 5-3 their L/8 games and have knocked in a total of 62 runs. That's close to 8 RPG, and they'll be staring right into the eyes of Wilson Alvarez this evening who hasn't started a game since August 27th. Alvarez has been the unsung hero of the Dodgers pitching staff this season by winning games in which their higher profiled starters had to sit out because of injury. He was pulled from the starting lineup in late August mostly due to the fact that he was getting lit up. The once hefty lefty sports a solid 4-2 record with a 3.16 ERA at home, and an even more sparkling 3-0 career record with a 0.73 ERA vs. the Padres. That being said, the Padres bats have simply torched lefties on the road hitting them for a .305 clip, and a .299 clip their L/10. Padre Hurler Brian Lawrence has been San Diego's road warrior securing 9 wins in the 14 road starts he's figured in. He sports a respectable 4.01 ERA on the road, and a 3.98 ERA in night games. He's won two of his L/4 road starts, and has averaged a total of 6.3 IP. He's had success vs. LA in his career going 8-3 with a 2.25 ERA, and I look for that to continue this evening. The Padres need as many wins as possible with them being in the thick of the wild card race, and this is a game they must have with the better pitcher on the mound. Look for the Fathers to play pepper with Alvarez early, and for Lawrence to coast to a solid win as the Padres solid bullpen locks it down for him.

I've been in a bit of a slump myself lately, I just got my first win after losing 4 in a row, so I'm looking for a goodie too. I did post yanks as an opinion play earlier but did not bet it, I'm leaning to Tex/oak over, and Hou/stL over, totals usually get me on a roll, good luck
