    SYSTEM RECORD

for whoever asked this question, these plays were 12-2 last year. all of them road dogs and most of them a little ugly looking...kinda like this one. also, one of the guys can correct me if i'm wrong but i seem to remember that every dog favored a TD or less won the game outright except for the fresno state game which was one of the losers.

who knows what will happen this year..systems can be finicky things but all i know is last year this thing was an assassin.

Some trends that I found on this game....

          NIU is 14-4 ATS in it's L18 coming off a non-conference game.
NIU is 14-2 in it's L16 vs. teams averaging 3.25 yds/rush or less (ISU is 3.0)

Quote from a publication I have, "The team (NIU) is loaded again in 2004, as it returns all but two starters on offense and six on defense. Record-setting RB Michael Turner is gone, but the running game has weathered similar 'irreplaceable' departures in recent years. AJ Harris looks to be the primary candidate to carry the ball in '04. NIU was solid in every phase of the game last year and looks to be so again this year..."

Regarding Iowa State, "...the Cyclones proceeded to drop their last 10 games (in '03) failing to cover a spread in any of them. In fact, the closest game in that span was an 8-point defeat to Northern Illinois. In general, they struggled from both sides of the line of scrimmage, ranking in the bottom nine nationally in points scored and points allowed. Overall, they were outscored by 22 PPG and outgained by 145 YPG! For 2004, coach Dan McCarney hopes to rebuild the program behind 13 returning starters. Realistically, there is little else to point to, as this team wasn't even competitive last year. Another long season of struggles could lie ahead."

Hail to the BUCKEYES!!!! Michigan was just a part of Ohio that nobody wanted.
