Sophomore quarterback Phil Horvath struggled early, going 5-for-13 into the second period, but still managed to lead Northern Illinois on Saturday to a 23-22 victory over Southern Illinois.
Horvath, who was filling in for injured starting quarterback Josh Haldi and playing without suspended starting wide receivers Sam Hurd and Shatone Powers, generated only 38 yards.
The Star reports- Josh Haldi-foot is expected to miss. Taken out of Maryland game after first drive because of a stress fracture in his right foot. He is not expected to play until at least the first game of MAC play.
After all is said I personally like the play. Iowa State off the biggest game of their year against Iowa. Next week they play Oklahoma State on the road.
Are they going to be looking ahead? Northern Illlinois is just Northern Illinois. Easy to look passed.
Love the system and like the play for those reasons. GL my Friend and you know where I will be.
Not sure exactly but Iowa St. is something like 66% ATS as a home fav over the last 7/8 years. But then N. Ill is getting them in a sandwich situation. GL.
