For what it's worth, Bigguy SIMULATION Consensus last 2 year's on Opening Thursday Night is 0-1-1 on sides and 0-2 on totals.

So far they're running at 62% on the Pats tonight and 55% on the OVER, but that could swing the other way by gametime, or maybe not.

Bigguy's Simulation consensus last 2 years on Opening Weekend in the NFL:

    Thursday Night

    Sides: 0-0-1
    Totals: 0-2

    Sunday Games

    Sides: 15-11 (two 1/2-pt losers)
    Totals: 13-12-1

    Sunday Night

    Sides: 1-1
    Totals: 0-2

    Monday Night

    Sides: 2-0
    Totals: 0-2

Notable: Consensus is 0-6 with TOTALS in Prime Time games Thu Nt, Sun Nt, and Mon Nt.

Bigguy's records go back six seasons.

The last 2 years the consensus is 0-6 in prime time totals week one.

From '98 thru '01, the prime time totals were 1-3 on sun nt and 2-2 on monday night...

...for a six year total of 3-11 or 1-9 sun/thur...

I'm thinking the play tonight might be to wait until halftime and see if there is some value.

Hard to go either way in tonight's game for me... but halftime might offer something in either the side or total...

        *REMEMBER:

Teams that went 1-3 in Pre-Season (and not facing another 1-3 team) are 5-16-1 ATS in their Regular Season Openers the last 3 years.

Home Dogs were 3-2, leaving everything else 2-14 ATS.

The Road Fave record was 1-0, leaving a combined 1-14 ATS record for traditional Home Faves and Road Dogs.

Of the 1-14 record, division teams were 1-3 while non-division were 0-11 ATS.

NEW ENGLAND WENT 1-3 AND WOULD QUALIFY AS A GO-AGAINST IN THE 0-14 ATS SUB-SET.
