  • College Football Weekend Plays

    YTD: 1-2 -1.1 units

    2* Arizona State OVER 60
Northwestern is better than most think and its strength (as usual for them) is all on their offense. Scored 45 against TCU and gave up 45 in regulation (lost 48-45 in OT). Arizona State with Heisman candidate Walter at QB will put up big points this year. Play is posted now as I think the number will go up several points by Saturday.

    2* California -33
Cal is an offensive juggernaut that scored 63 against an OK Air Force team that is probably better than New Mexico State, which lost 63-14 to Arkansas. This line is also likely to go up by Saturday.

1* Troy State +11 (Thursday night game)
Troy, fresh off upset of Marshall, gets a rare home game against a major team. Missouri is overrated but does have a great QB.

    1* Virginia -21 1/2
North Carolina is very bad and Virginia is very good. Virginia's QB, making his first start, led his team to 37 points versus Clemson and NC is no Clemson.

    1* Fresno State +13
Fresno ripped Washington and is always tough in early season non-conf games. K-State had trouble with a Division 1-AA team.

Most games rated 1* with a few select double plays.

Another play or two may be added as the weekend approaches.

What do you think of UConn -14 over Duke?? And Wisky -16 over UNLV??

Wasn't UConn a cover machine last year?? I think they're even better this year and should have no problem versus a bad Duke team.

Didn't UNLV go into Wisconsin last year and upset the Badgers?? Could this be a big revenge game for Wisky??

      Adding

      1* Purdue -30
Ball State did play Boston College tough but that was at home. Purdue one of several Big Ten teams better than people realize and pasted Syracuse 51-0 last week.

      1* South Carolina +8
Georgia, still living on last year's reputation, overvalued. SC has Heisman candidate RB Summers who averaged 7.9 yards per carry last week, is playing at home and coming off a whipping of Vanderbilt. Georgia was lackadasical in beating Div.1-AA Georgia Southern. Straight up upset possible here.

Weekend off to a good start with Troy State winning outright as dog against Missouri. Hope to keep it going.

          Recap

A 5-2 weekend. Unfortunately, the two losses were on my two double plays with Cal getting backdoored by NM State and Ariz State and NW never recovering from a 3 point first quarter..
On the positive side, dogs Fresno and Troy won outright, both easily. South Carolina lost but got the cover. Virginia covered easily and Purdue annihilated Ball.

          YTD: 6-4 but -0.5 units.
