Game Previews
South Carolina vs. Georgia
StoryLine: The Gamecocks are coming off a huge road victory against Vanderbilt. The Commodores are considered a team on the rise in the SEC and were thrashed by the Gamecocks. Lou Holtz appears to have this team focused for a big season and his first big task will be against Georgia. The Bulldogs beat 1-AA foe Georgia Southern, but wasn’t impressive at times.
Football.com Cam: How much has the Gamecocks offense improved since last season? That question wasn’t really answered against Vanderbilt, but will be answered against the Bulldogs defense. The Bulldogs defense was stingy last season and has enough players returning to continue at a high level. Last week’s tuneup against Georgia Southern was a good prep for the Gamecocks offense. Expect quarterback Dondrial Pinkins to run the option, but he hasn’t been consistent in the passing game. The Gamecocks offense will churn out yards on the ground with running backs Demetris Summers and Daccus Turman. Expect Pinkins to control the clock and pound away at the Bulldogs defense. When the Bulldogs have the ball, they finally have a running back capable of carrying the offense. Danny Ware had a huge opening game, as he rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Expect the offense to use the running game, to help set-up David Greene to Fred Gibson downfield.
Bold Prediction: The Bulldogs weren’t extremely impressive against Georgia Southern and they are ready for a rebound. Expect them to play better and they will control the line of scrimmage, as they defeat the Gamecocks 24-10.
Clemson vs. Georgia Tech
StoryLine: After taking Wake Forest to overtime, the Tigers know they have plenty of work to do on the defensive side of the ball. They will get a big test of their adjustments as they face Georgia Tech, a team that can pound the ball right at opposing defenses. Whichever team can come away with victory will take an early lead towards a top tier ACC finish.
Football.com Cam: The key match-up in this game is the Tigers defense against the Yellow Jackets offense. The Yellow Jackets offense will be very efficient and they want to pound the ball against a vulnerable front seven. Against Wake Forest, the Tigers couldn’t stop Chris Barclay on the ground and P.J. Daniels is a solid back, who should be able to take advantage of the Tigers defense. Quarterback Reggie Ball must continue to make solid decisions with the football and run when needed. When the Tigers have the ball, expect quarterback Charlie Whitehurst to put the ball in the air. The offense was concerned about the receivers going into the game, but came away pleased, especially with the performance of Chansi Stuckey. Stuckey is an interesting target, as he is a former quarterback and there could be a few trick plays for him at quarterback. Expect the Tigers to spread the Yellow Jackets out and neutralize their pass rush.
Bold Prediction: Although the Tigers had trouble stopping the run against Wake Forest, they will find a way to slow down P.J. Daniels and take home a 31-21 victory over the Yellow Jackets.

Game of the Week
*Miami 24, Florida State 21
Ready or not, the bitter rivals meet for the third time in 11 months. Miami has taken the last five in the series, part of the Hurricanes' nine-game winning streak against Florida teams since October 2000. We were wrong on both predictions last season, picking the Seminoles. This time we're going with Miami, by three points.
