It Was La Russa Who Killed Us

GV. It only took me the first two batters to see Eldred had nothing. That was when La Russa should have taken him out. I don't know what he was thinking. And then he still had chances to take him out, only down by one run and still he leaves him in. I blame La Russa more than Eldred. He's got 4 other relievers, not counting his closer, with ERA's under 3.26. Why he didn't use them is what I would like to know. And stupid me, parleying the A's total with St. Louis. At the same time Eldred had nothing, Arthur Rhodes tried to do worse as Boston scored at will in the 9th. Glad to see you and everyone else get the over. I just don't like laying big juice and it happened to cost me tonight.

This has gotta be the danger of betting on certain teams in September. With the big division lead, does LaRussa really care if he blew this one game? Is it better for him to leave Eldred in than waste an arm in the bullpen who he can try to save for the playoffs? I bet on them as well but am starting to think I need to stay away from teams that either have it locked up or are completely out of it (and will be playing rookies who could go either way).
