I would think that within the confines of Nevada, where sports gambling is legal, that a capper might have a basis for a lawsuit if his picks were given out without his consent.
Outside of Nevada, however, sports gambling is not legal;thus, if in fact Root won his case, there must have been some other basis;that is why I as stated before I would like to see the court decision and the basis on which he won.

Uless it's classified, I can't see why a cappers' picks would not be considered like reporting the news every evening. It' newsworthy to a select sgement of the public. Therefore should it not be considered part of the public domain?

So does this mean anyone with an offshore account is breaking FEDERAL LAW?! Now that is funny!! They'll need a prison the size of Manhattan to house all the "felons!"

I wonder what Root’s basis was for his lawsuit, I’m sure he wasn’t claiming he had copyright privileges on the team names. The disposition of the suit should be very interesting and also to know if either side appealed the judge’s ruling and that outcome. Does anyone know whom Root filed against, the year and the state in which he filed it?

              LOL

These people are so retarded. Thier is no copyright on making picks. This would mean that no one can give there opinion on any game, because then someone would be copying someone. There is no justification for that LOL. So if they have a real problem with it we can just say "Gos Picks" insted of "Gods picks".

                copyright material

Sports Services can not copyright picks
Sports Services can copyright articles that have their selections.

The copyright problem is when someone takes an article from the original writer's website and copies and pastes to another site without permission from the author as is done on this site. However if you just took the picks that would be fine. Bettor's Chat is not liable for someone posting on this for it is the person who posts the article just as if someone tries to sell a copyrighted product on ebay Ebay would not be liable the seller would
                Hope this helps.

If they can't get people to buy their plays, they have to make their money somehow (lawsuit).

                        root

i just posted his play today in the services forum,,,,,,,monte i hope he doesnt come after you!!!!!!!!! i know for a fact that root did file a complaint/lawsuit in the state of nevada and that it was thrown out of court.....he pressures all of his players now to not post his plays and also suggests that they will find the ip adresses of anyones computer that is listing his plays....and either cut you off or give you the wrong play......i personally love posting them because it sems like everyone is now afraid to post his picks....which sucks because i actully like to know what side he is on.....just my 2 cents!!!!!!!!

Only case you should be concerning yourself with is:
U.S. v. National Sports Consultants. You know what I'm talking about there sport? I "bet" you do.
