Alot of picks in here today. Hard to chose which ones to play so I played about 17 and I'm ahead 8 - 5 with 4 pending. Everybody makes some valid points but would only like to play 3 plays big instead of several small plays. Any advice for a rookie?

ARE MOST CORRECT! THAT IS WAYYYYYYYYY TOOO MANY TO PLAY!

You have done (are doing) very well being up for the day! If you continue to play that many though you will lose by years end. Juice in football is a killer!

I find it much better to play like I do in MLB! ISOLATE one big play either of your own or a reliable capper here who has a solid record in football.

I played several today which I will get away from as they are all smaller plays and much easier to win as the season progresses.....Vegas adjusts very very well making your margin of error very small AND having to deal with juice.

THAT is why MLB can be a gold mine with the big price dogs.

A money line dog in football is very very hard to hit later in the year.

THE NFL is by far the worst! Admit it or not...the zebras are owned by Vegas and so are some coaches and players and even trainers...it has always been that way and will continue to be that way.....you just have to be observational on line moves on key games and play the other side of the move.....that is why the so called "contrarian" players will put out a bet that looks totally out of whack with what "seems to be the easy play". LA MONROE as an ugly dog and Toledo as an attractive dog fall in here.....Texas Tech or Oklahoma as big favs are a couple on that side of the fence for examples..

Bottom line is to play big money on just ONE play or two and then if you wish action on TV games or something......make them verrrrry verrrrrry small in comparison.

THIS IS JUST AN OPINION AND BY NO MEANS AM I TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO.......BUT BASICALLY STAY AWAY FROM 5-6-7 TEAM TEASERS and if you must play a parlay.......money lines are the easiest with home teams to get a +100 break even usually with only 4 teams.

Books LOVE for you to play many parlays in football......most.....lose most!

Thanks alot for the advice. I'll try and stick to 2-3 plays per day.

I won 6 large in a football pool 2 years ago so last
year I subscribed to a pay service. $1000 to join
for NFL and NCAAF plays for the year.
I won't mention his name but he had his worst year in a long
time and I lost half of what I won the year previous.
I'm just trying to win that back and then some.

All I will say

is that many before you have been down the "pay for play" road and donated their hard earned money to FIRST the service and NEXT the "Book"! Most have no clue as they are in sales and advertising and do not even put any money on the plays they put out! There are a very very few good ones out there but I have no idea who they are!?

I will guarantee you that if you just take a select high play from people on this board such as EZ.....Tony Suprano......I will stop right there because there are a good DOZEN or more here you will make money with FOR FREE!

BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT to play Everyones plays every day as everyone has off days and that will snatch your profits...but a break even is not all bad either.....mark my words at WEEKS end you should see a +++ sign on your balance!

AND STAY AWAY FROM LOCAL BOOKS.......Use a GOOD reputable on line Sports Book such as advertised here and BC backs.....Olympic and Pinnacle are both two that are outstanding!

mean that if you have never used one before. If you have one you know and TRUST......no sweat.....but most have stuff like this:

Pushes do not tie.......you lose

Parlays will pay 2.3..2.2 or less vs 2.4 on a standard two.

Use or move lines according to "which site posted it prior to the game"

Often barter you half or whole points on calls right before tip/first pitch/kickoff knowing you want the action anyway and will probably say.....ok

Are hard to reach (won't answer) when action comes out close to annotating a really good play for you and they know it.

Lastly.......if things go legally bad for them.............loose lips sink ships and you may be on their final cruise!

These are just a few.............

JMHO..................so you may be just fine with it.............I prefer the other option however!

If you want a good capper go to cappthespread.com they are releasing their football plays for free this year and they are very good in cfb and cbb they suck in baseball. it looks like they might relase nfl games for free as well but i would be very cautious with their pro selections

Hey Vike. Your sure in a talkative mood tonight. You gave a lot of of good advice.
Football killed me today, except for your total which I decided to play for the first half in case the 4th Q turned into Minn trying to run the clock out. What saved me was playing a 5 team baseball parley, including Tony's Anaheim play, but I used the ML, with big favs, SL, SF, Atl and Oak. Paid 5.5 to 1. GL tomorrow.

right sandman! A rare chance for me to rest and relax to finally look at some things in depth..........I am still dealing with my Mom's situation which probaly explains why my plays are not as sharp as they should be! I should really stick to the meat of it all and look for solid winners!
