I very rarley post my own picks on the forum, but this is one I can't pass up talking about. As you might guess, I'm a 78 Ole Miss grad and diehard supporter, BUT....There is no way in the world I see the Rebs covering a FG against a MEMPHIS offense that returns 11...Yes ELEVEN, offensive starters including Danny Wimprine...possibly the most underrated QB in the land. The Rebs best chance, I believe, is to trade points with Wimprine and crew. Mike Spurlock is a tremendous raw athletic talent, but he hasn't taken a meaningful snap since two years ago in high school. And the REB D returns only four starters, none on the defensive front, and has lost its projected starting ML to legal problems. Prior to the ELI ERA, the Rebs were a 30% proposition as home chalk...True with ELI they were world beaters, but I think Eli is wearing Giant blue now. Though my heart is pulling for the REBS my money is on a dog that I think should be clear chalk. As an aside, IF the Rebs cover, I predict there will be 70 points scored.
