I've been a paying subscriber for the passed 5 years, but financial issues have kept me from renewing this season.

Their info is top notch in the industry.

jim, i love reading the Gold Sheet. I always have for some reason.
I also liked reading the ESPN Insider picks. I can't seem to ever find those though. They have been posted here a couple times last year but i didn't see them @ESPN anywhere. Those are really the only 2 things i like to read for college foots. I think they both are interesting reads!

        Thanks & GL! :D

Here's the GS report for Sunday & Monday games...

            SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

PURDUE 31 - Syracuse 14 —Purdue o.c. Jim Chaney is looking forward to unleashing an attack he thinks will remind Boiler faithful of the days of Drew Brees. Sr. QB Kyle Orton (61%, 2885 YP LY) is going to air it out, and Syracuse has had trouble stopping the pass the last 2 years, yielding 44 TD passes and 269 ypg passing. Orton
has a variety of weapons, including WR Stubblefield (86 recs. LY) and RB Void (13 rush TDs). Syracuse has more limited offensive options, as beleaguered HC Pasqualoni has top-flight RB Reyes (1347 YR LY), but not much else. None of the three prospective QB candidates has been in a game. Oh boy! TV—ABC
            (FIRST MEETING)

LOUISVILLE 30 - Kentucky 26—Explosive L’ville attack (5th nationally LY) admittedly owns more proven weapons of mass production. But will still “take” with rival Kentucky, seething from LY’s 40-24 nationally -televised loss, when Cards scored
on 2-yd. run with only :06 left instead of taking a knee. Ouch! Scouts believe Wildcats athletic dual threat, 6-3 sr. QB Boyd, ready to thrive in o.c. Hudson’s roll-out oriented attack, alleviating some pressure from totally rebuilt OL. Disappointing Card 2ndary (258 ypg passing) was baffled by most quality QBs LY (hence, new d.c. Mike Cassity),
and visitor has covered 5 of last 6 in series. CABLE TV—ESPN
            (03-Lvl. 40-KY. 24...L.22-21 L.44/240 K.36/108 K.18/32/2/236 L.14/23/1/180 L.0 K.0)
            (03-Lvl. +5' 40-24 02-Ky. +13 22-17 01-Lvl. -3' 36-10...SR: Kentucky 10-6)

Houston 35 - Rice 27— Don’t expect any of that fancy passin’ stuff from Rice TY after Kenny Hatfield experimented with some 3 and 4-WR looks before going back to straight option football the last half of ‘03, winning 4 of last 6 and netting 489 ypg down stretch. But still-suspect Owls “D” was turned inside-out by Art Briles’ unique Houston spread/option LY, and C-USA scouts raving about progress of soph QB Kolb, who wasn’t too shabby as a frosh (61%, 25 TDP & only 8 ints.) (at Reliant Stadium)
            (03-HOUSTON 48-Rice 14...H.22-14 R.46/206 H.49/194 H.17/23/0/246 R.6/13/2/36 H.0 R.0)
            (03-HOUSTON -4' 48-14 02-Houston +7' 24-10 01-Rice +1' 21-14...SR: Houston 22-8)

*** Fresno State 27 - WASHINGTON 20 —Pat Hill and FSU live for these dates vs. high-profile foes, evidenced by Bulldogs’ 7-1 spread mark last 8 vs. Pac-10. And fact remains that FSU was probably flat-out better than Washington LY, and might be so again. Befuddled Huskies HC Gilbertson still unsure about QB spot (little-used
holdovers Paus & “slash” Stanback), which could be problem vs. what WAC sources say is Hill’s best-ever 2ndary. And expect more dynamism from QB Pinegar after injury-hampered ‘03. No surprise if clutch FSU PK Visintainer proves difference.
            (DNP...SR: Washington 1-0)

*TENNESSEE 27 - Unlv 13 —Though UT mentor Fulmer says still-competing true frosh QBs Schaeffer & Ainge are “unusually mature,” Fulmer will limit playbook here and mostly resort to smashmouth approach with his vet bunch of RBs. But UNLV’s
active, physical back 8—anchored by omnipresent 215 FS Brimmer & stout pair of sr. LBs Seward & Claridge (both 250)—able to keep Vols from steamrolling. Heck, Rebels deep, diverse group of RBs (former Neb. signee Marshall added to mix) also
impressive, while ugpraded aerial game (under 2nd-year o.c. Bruce Synder), featuring prime-time 6-3 sr. WR E. Johnson (60 catches LY), could challenge unsettled Vol 2ndary (lost 3 starters). Robo 5-1-1 as DD road dog since ‘99! CABLE TV—ESPN2
            (DNP...SR: Tennessee 1-0)

            MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

SOUTH FLORIDA 16 - Pittsburgh 10—Pittsburgh offense (only 3 starters return) has all sorts of concerns entering TY (see Special Ticker). South Florida attack no
juggernaut. But Bulls have good RB depth & a starting OL that returns en masse. Fiesty USF joins Big East next season, and it was 4-0 SU vs. C-USA teams the year before entering that loop. Favor host (21-game home win streak before pair of 3-point losses LY) and “under.” CABLE TV—ESPN
            (01-South Florida +23 35-26...SR: South Florida 1-0)

            *MIAMI-FLORIDA 23 - Florida State 17 —So much for easy early-season
tuneups! Winner of this opener becomes heavy favorite to win ACC and an early frontrunner for spot in BCS title game. FSU seems due for a break or two against hated rival Miami, which has won 5 straight in series. And Noles appear to have some small edges (OL, WR) over Canes. Still, at the risk of being overly simplistic, this matchup boils down to the QBs, Chris Rix & Brock Berlin. In his 4th season as FSU
starter, has Rix’s previously shaky decision-making finally caught up with his awesome physical talents? Insiders say rifle-armed UM counterpart Berlin ready for big step forward after struggling LY. TV—ABC
            (03-Miami 22-FLA. ST. 14...F.20-13 M.34/131 F.37/61 F.20/42/2/235 M.15/28/3/181 M.2 F.3)

            I think this game postpones

            ADDED GAME
LOUISIANA TECH 30 - Nevada 29—Don’t expect the wild shootouts you’ve seen lately from these two (combined 88 ppg last 3!), especially with college football’s equivalent of Red Adair, d.c. Tim Rose, enlisted by LT coach Bicknell to remake Bulldog “D” that ranked last in ‘03. But LT unlikely to pull away as it breaks in new QB
and receivers, as it’s now more likely to slow pace by featuring RB Moats (1300 YR LY). Well-respected new (old?) Nevada HC Ault resurrecting “Air Wolf” in Reno, though Pack chances helped if bullish RB Kretschmer (knee) available. ESPN-2

            LOOKING FOR AN ANGLE
            By Gary Olshan, Chief Analyst

Texas A&M at UTAH (Thursday night)...Revenge-minded Utah nearly
overcame 21-0 halftime deficit in thrilling 28-26 loss at Texas A&M LY. Utes scored on a 45-yd. TD pass with just 8 secs. remaining, but failed on game-tying 2-pt. conversion with QB Elliott breaking his wrist on the play. Aggies have failed to cover 9 straight in underdog role.

Boston College at BALL STATE (Thursday night)...BC vented its frustration in 53-29 romp vs. Ball State the week following 33-14 home defeat
vs. Miami LY. Eagles piled up 468 yds., and Cards scored late TD vs. BC reserves. Road-tested Eagles have covered 8 of their last 9 away from home (including bowls).

Northwestern at TCU (Thursday night)...NW was 5-1-1 vs. line away from Evanston in ‘03. And TCU just 3-9-1 last 13 as chalk.

Baylor at UAB...Baylor has been Big XII bottom feeder since mid ‘90s, but you can bet UAB won’t take Bears lightly after narrow 24-19 win at Waco LY. Blazer QB Hackney threw winning 50-yd. TD pass with just 40 secs. to go!
Baylor HC Guy Morriss has provided bulletin board material when he publicly
said in preseason that early games vs. UAB, Texas State and North Texas were “ must wins.”

Cal at AIR FORCE...Terrible role lately for Cal, which is 0-7-2 as road chalk since ‘95. AF starting its 1st true frosh QB (Carney) since ‘86. Notre Dame at BYU...BYU on a mission (no pun intended) following sloppy (Cougs committed 4 TOs) in 33-14 setback at South Bend LY. BYU has covered 5 straight openers. ND just 5-12 vs. spread last 17 on board.

Wake Forest at CLEMSON ...Expect revenge-minded Clemson to come out smoking after falling behind 35-0 by halftime in embarrassing 45-17 shocker at Wake Forest LY. Tigers, who had won 8 of previous 9 in series SU, handed Deacons a couple of early TDs (WF scored on a 85-yd. int. & 12-yd. fumble return). Numerous Clemson players claimed they were distracted by upcoming battle with Florida State in “Death Valley” LY.

Colorado at COLORADO ...Underdog has covered 7 of past 8 between these two heated rivals. CSU mentor Sonny Lubick is 14-5 in underdog role since ‘99.

Kent State at IOWA ...Iowa has been nation’s No.1 bully over last decade, posting an amazing 20-2 spread mark as DD chalk in Kinnick Stadium since ‘94. Hawkeyes are a perfect 10-0 vs. points in that role last 4 seasons!

Oregon State at LSU...BCS national champ LSU is solid 9-2 vs. spread in Tiger Stadium last 2 seasons, including perfect 5-0 mark as DD chalk over same time frame. OSU is arriving in Baton Rouge on Thursday in an attempt to get acclimated to the typically oppressive southern late summer heat & humidity.

Northern Illinois at MARYLAND ...Maryland has been itching for this
rematch all summer following 20-13 OT loss at Northern Illinois in LY’s opener,
when Terps took Huskies lightly by spending extra time preparing for upcoming Florida State battle. Maryland is 14-2 as home chalk under shrewd 4th-year mentor Friedgen, including 7-1 mark as DD favorite. Huskies, however, are 8- 2 last 10 as an underdog, including 3 straight as DD dog.

Troy State at MARSHALL ...Proud Marshall aching for this revenge game
after claiming it was “unfocused” in 33-24 upset loss at Troy State LY. Note,
that Thundering Herd was off brutal trio of games the previous 3 weeks (at
Tennessee, Toledo, & upset at Kansas State!). Marshall still outgained Trojans
            417-349, but couldn’t overcome Troy State’s momentum-shifting 70-yd int.
return for TD when Herd trailed only 20-17 early in final period.

Cincinnati at OHIO STATE...Cincy nearly pulled off a major upset vs. more
prestigious instate power Ohio State in 23-19 loss at Paul Brown Stadium in ‘02. Bearcat then-soph QB Guidugli bedazzled the Buckeye 2ndary, throwing for 324 yds., and Cincy led 19-14 in 4th Q before Buckeyes scored final 9 pts. to narrowly escape. This opener has extra significance for new Bearcat HC Mark Dantonio, who tutored under mentor Jim Tressel at both Youngstown State &Ohio State.

Michigan State at RUTGERS ...Ascending Rutgers has been feisty home dog lately, going 7-2 in that role last 2 seasons, and don’t forget Scarlet Knight were sizzling 10-1-1 vs. spread LY, including 44-28 spread-covering loss at MSU in ‘03.

Texas Tech at SMU ...TT was 6-2 as chalk LY, which includes 58-10
thrashing vs. SMU LY. Mustangs only 7-17 vs. number under beleaguered HC
            Phil Bennett.

South Carolina at VANDERBILT ...Vandy has been scrappy home dog in
recent times, going 8-2-1 in Nashville since ‘01, which includes competitive 20- 14 setback vs. South Carolina in ‘02 (‘Dores were 9 ½-pt. dog). ‘Cocks have
been an unwise investment lately, posting an 8-15-1 spread record since ‘02.

East Carolina at WEST VIRGINIA ...WV’s ground attack has overwhelmed
ECU defense in past 2 blowouts, as Mountaineer RBs have rolled up a
            whopping 536 & 361 YR in ‘02 & ‘03 respectively.

Florida State at MIAMI...Miami has defeated Florida-based schools 9
straight times, including 5 in row vs. FSU, and Hurricanes have covered 5 of
past 6 in series. However, 4 of past 5 decided by total of just 14 pts.

Fresno State at WASHINGTON (Sunday)...FSU’s fiery HC Pat Hill relishes the opportunity to face Pac-10 squads to prove his Bulldogs can compete with the “big boys.” FSU has clearly risen to the occasion lately, recording 6-1 spread mark since ‘02, including impressive upsets vs. Oregon State and UCLA
            (Silicon Valley Bowl) in ‘03.

            SPECIAL TICKER
            by Bill Blackburn, Associate Editor

AIR FORCE...Jr. Adam Fitch, the likely successor to Chance Harridge as Falcons’ starting QB until he hurt his Achilles tendon in spring practice, is available only in an extreme emergency for opener vs. Cal. QB Shaun Carney (5-10, 195) will become the first frosh ever to start an opener at AFA (Dee Dowis started later in ‘86 campaign as
a frosh). Carney ran an exact replica of Falcons’ attack at the AFA prep school LY.
AKRON...Starting sr. FB Dan Basch (ankle surgery) is expected to miss another 1-2 weeks. Prolific NFL-caliber sr. QB Charlie Frye (33 starts, 8426 YP, 64% L3Ys) is without his top 4 receivers (combined 200 catches!) from LY. ARIZONA
            STATE
...Starting sr. CB R.J. Oliver, Devils’ top cover guy, will miss the season after undergoing foot surgery, and starting sr. SS Ricardo Stewart (shoulder) is ? for opener vs. UTEP after missing lots of practice time. Projected starting sr. DT Connor Banks will sit out opener as part of his punishment for a DUI arrest in mid-June. ARKANSAS
            STATE
...Sr. QB Elliot Jacobs, who started the last 24 games under center for the Indians, unexpectedly quit team on 1st day of August practice to concentrate on baseball. Blue-chip juco QB Devin Hollins (6-1, 205; 34 TDP with only 7 ints. at JC LY), who originally attended Wisconsin, might start the opener at Missouri. Starting jr. S Chris Littleton was dismissed from the team after he missed a court date (DUI
charges). BAYLOR...Starting soph DT M.T. Robinson (6-1, 295; 3 sacks LY) might miss the first 2 games after hurting his knee in mid-August. BOSTON COLLEGE...Sr.
Paul Peterson (9 TDP, but also 6 ints., in final 4 games LY) has been named Eagles’ starting QB. HC O’Brien intends to redshirt sr. Quinton Porter, who started the first 10 games under center in 2003, so that he will have an experienced QB when BC joins the
rugged ACC next season. Big-play jr. WR Larry Lester (knee; 22 ypc on 17 receptions, 5 of which went for TDs LY!) will probably sit out opener at Ball State.
CLEMSON...Jr. RB Duane Coleman, who led the Tigers with 615 YR and also had 34 catches LY, is out indefinitely after breaking his foot in mid-August. Scouts think Clemson attack will miss Coleman more as a receiver, especially on 3rd down, than as a runner. HC Bowden feels confident enough in his rotation at RB —injury-prone sr. Yusef Kelly (6-0, 234), soph Reggie Merriweather (5-8, 212), and jr. Kyle Browning (5- 7, 172)—that highly-regarded, speedy RS frosh Brandon Nolen, who was recruited as
an RB, will stay at SS, where he’s been practicing during fall camp. COLORADO ...Five players, including starting sr. DE Marques Harris, starting soph CB Sammy Joseph, and jr. RB Brian Calhoun (team-leading 810 YR LY), have left the Buffalo program in the wake of the much-publicized scandals. Speedy jr. WR & topnotch return man Jeremy Bloom is ineligible pending his latest appeal of NCAA ruling. COLORADO STATE ...Projected starting soph G Jason Haskell (knee) will miss the season. DUKE...Starting sr. DE Micah Harris (6-4, 255; 93 tackles in 21 starts L2Ys) was killed during a car accident in June. Starting sr. WR Lance Johnson (23 catches LY) has been dismissed from team. FLORIDA ...Soph LB Channing Crowder, a 1st team all-SEC selection LY after making 106 tackles (most of any Gator returnee), is suspended for opener vs. Middle Tenn. State. FLORIDA STATE...Jr. C David Castillo (foot) & sr. G Bobby Meeks (ankle), two of 5 returning starters on Seminole OL, are ? for opener vs. Miami. Highly-touted soph CB Antonio Cromartie (6-3, 197) needs arthroscopic surgery on his knee, but he’s trying to put it off until after the season. FRESNO STATE ...Jr. OT Matt Stevenson (shoulder; 9 starts L2Ys) will miss opener at Washington. HAWAII...Starting sr. DT Lui Fuga (knee) & soph DE Ikaika Alama- Francis (back) are both out for about 3 weeks. HOUSTON ...Starting jr. WR Chad McCullar (35 catches LY) and starting soph DE Eddie McCray are academically ineligible.

IOWA...Sr. Jermelle Lewis, the Hawkeyes’ top RB, is suspended for the opener vs. Kent State for violating team rules. KANSAS...Sr. G Tony Coker (21 starts L2Ys) will miss at least 3 games after breaking his ankle in fall camp. KENT STATE...Star sr. QB
Joshua Cribbs (4954 YP, 3173 YR L3Ys), who accounted for 29 of the Flashes’ 41 offensive TDs LY, is suspended for opener at Iowa after he pleaded to guilty to marijuana possession over the summer. Coaches plan to split time against the Hawkeyes between athletic Cribbs-like soph Antwan Smith (6-2, 195), who started 3 games at WR LY but attempted only 18 passes in very limited QB duty during 2003, and RS frosh Tom Sitko (6-2, 230). KENTUCKY...Starting jr. CB Bo Smith (57 tackles, 1 int. LY) suffered a skull fracture and broken orbital bone in a fight and will miss the season. Starting soph ILB Dustin Williams (hamstring; 122 tackles LY!) is expected to sit out opener at rival Louisville. MARSHALL...Star sr. DE Jonathan Goddard (24 straight starts; 68 tackles, 6½ sacks LY) was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer last week. Check status for opener vs. Troy State. MIAMI FLORIDA ... Jr. OT Rashad Butler (ankle) is doubtful for opener vs. Fla. State, and jr. G Tony Tella (back) is ?. Both are projected starters. Soph Tyrone Moss (5-10, 221) is No. 1 on the depth chart at RB. But scouts report jr. Frank Gore (5-10, 220; 1033 YR on nearly 7 ypc L2Ys), who’s had each of his first 2 seasons at Miami cut short by a major knee injury, is near fully recovered from the most recent one and has been cleared to play. MICHIGAN STATE ...Soph QB Drew Stanton, the projected starter
after the departure of star Jeff Smoker, has been slow to recover from off-season knee surgery and might not be available for opener at Rutgers. MISSISSIPPI...Highly regarded
soph RB Jamal Pittman (6-2, 240) is suspended for at least 6 games, and
projected starting sr. MLB Ken Bournes (6-2, 265) was kicked off team after the two pleaded guilty to misdemeanor gun possession charges. Sr. FB Rick Razzano is suspended for the opener vs. Memphis. NAVY...Starting sr. OT Casey Hughes (ankle) is out indefinitely. NEVADA...Star sr. RB Chance Kretschmer (1732 YR in 2001,
injured in 2002, 1162 LY) is ? for opener at La. Tech after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. HC Chris Ault’s new zero-tolerance policy for players who are arrested (anybody charged with a felony is immediately dismissed from the team) has already
led to the dismissal of projected starting soph CB Rodney Landingham (bank robbery). NORTH TEXAS ...Juco OLB Travis Thompson (leg), a projected starter, is out for the
season. Jr. QB Andrew Smith, who started 16 games over the last 2 seasons (mostly when No. 1 sr. Scott Hall was injured), was killed in a car accident during the summer.

PENN STATE ...Projected starting soph MLB BranDon Snow is out at least a month after breaking his foot. Starting sr. FS Chris Harrell (neck) might have to sit out season. PITTSBURGH ...Soph QB Tyler Palko won the competition to replace Rod Rutherford. WR corps is an area of concern. Top WR Princell Brockenbrough (knee) is out indefinitely and could miss season. Speedy soph WR Terrell Allen (wrist) has already been ruled out for 2004. Jr. RB Jawan Walker is academically ineligible, so Panthers’
top returning rusher had 79 YR in 2003. And jr. PK David Abdul (only 9 of 18 FGs LY) will also sit out season. Starting sr. G Rob Frederick (foot) will probably miss opener at South Florida. TCU ...Drew Coleman (knee), one of two blue-chip juco CBs brought in to boost Frog 2ndary that allowed 256 ypg passing LY, won’t play this year.
TEMPLE ...Returning starting sr. CBs Pete McBride (academics) & Ray Lamb (knee) will sit out the season. Starting sr. DT Antwon Burton (6-4, 315), Temple’s best run stuffer, is out indefinitely with a foot injury. TENNESSEE ...Jr. WR James Banks, the Vols’ leading receiver LY with 42 catches for 621 yards & 6 TDs, is suspended for the first 3 games. Projected starting jr. DT Greg Jones is academically ineligible. TOLEDO ...Starting sr. ILB Brock Dodrill (suspension; 134 tackles LY!) will not play this season. TULSA...Among eight scholarship players who have left or been kicked off the team is starting jr. SS Kedrick Alexander, dismissed following his guilty plea on felony
burglary charges. Alexander was a 2nd-team All-WAC selection LY after leading the Golden Hurricane with 121 tackles and snagging 3 interceptions. UNLV...Starting sr. OT Tyler Crandal (foot) will miss the season. VIRGINIA...Sr. Ottowa Anderson, whose 33 catches LY were the most among the Cavs’ returning WRs, has quit team. But Cavs have regained the services of sr. WR Michael McGrew (started all 14 games in 2002) after he sat out LY with a broken leg. Soph G Ian-Yates Cunningham, one of 5 returning starters on Cav OL, hasn’t fully recovered from May back surgery and might redshirt. WASHINGTON STATE ...Star jr. MLB Will Derting (86 tackles with 7½ sacks LY), a Butkus Award candidate and one of only 2 starters returning on Cougar defense,
dislocated his wrist in a preseason scrimmage. Insiders say that even if Derting doesn’t need season-ending surgery, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be able to play in opener at New Mexico. WISCONSIN...Jr. TB Dwayne Smith (heart disorder), who had a teamhigh 857 YR on 5.2 ypc and 9 TDs LY, will not play this season. But star sr. TB Anthony Davis (5-8, 194) is back at full strength after being limited throughout much of the 2003
campaign by a nagging ankle injury.

That should be it for GS this week.
            Good luck!!

Do you have any interest in these for the weekend?

The person that gave them to me did it with the agreement that i wouldn't post them for various reasons.

Let me know if you do and i'll shoot you an email.
