3 Wise Men Report – Tuesday 8/31
3 Wise Men … I was right … the real fun did start last night … 3-0.
Fantasy update : 13 –3 my favor going into tonight’s action.
Mark Prior ( at Montreal ), Brian Lawrence ( at St Louis ), and Jake Westbrook ( at N.Y.Yanks) all have starts scheduled so tonight is an important night for us to distance ourselves from our opponent. I know …. 2 of these games will be real tough and Prior still is not at 100%.
I made 3 changes this week:
1) I picked up Khalil Greene ( S.Diego) and inserted him at shortstop instead of Jose Valentin who’s been slumping awful lately. Greene has been hitting well of late and San Diego is in the thick of things.
2) I think Tony Batista has a little more clout than Sean Burroughs.
3) Placed Francisco Cordero ( the best closer in baseball this year ) on inactive and inserted Jack Westbrook who has 2 scheduled starts. I thought about this move good and hard before I made it. ( Westbrook is listed as both a starter and a reliever so that gave me extra options this season - I could use him when he had 2 starts in a week and when he didn’t I used Cordero).
