Advantage Sports Monday Night NFL
Saturday results: 5-1, +11.5 Units
YTD NFL 17-10,+15.4 Units/NCAA 2-0, +6.0 Units
I am watching this line hop from 3.5 to a current number at 5, and really can't figure any reason other than the "Tuna Factor"... Parcells has the ability to move spreads by himself and in this case, I find it unjustified. Even with the news that Dalllas is playing the first team into the 3rdQ, the Titans will bring maximum effort from all their guys tonight and I truly believe Jeff Fisher to be every bit the coach that Parcells is AND has done more with less in my opinion. Dallas has shown me nothing in preseason offensively that warrants anything more than a pick or small lean when factoring home field in this game and the reasoning that Dallas is treating this game more seriously means little as their offensive starters could play into the 3rd quarter, 4th quarter, NEXT WEEK without being able to move the ball effectively. Testaverde is only a starteing QB at 40 in this league because the Cowboys made a decision that Quincy Carter was unreliable and possibly had personal issues, but were unprepared to enter this season in the current situation at QB with Henson and Romo. The Titan's Billy Volek is more than capable at QB and with many defensive positions still unresolved for the Titans, I expect a solid effort and emotional game on BOTH sides of the ball tonight. Fisher never quits and neither will his team. There are several numbers in favor of Tennessee as a road dog that match nicely with Dallas' poor ATS record as a HF as well. This might be the 4th or 5th higeest spread of the preseason and I find it unwarranted on a Dallas team that will struggle in an improved division this year. As I also see points being at a premium tonight, we shall play...
4* Tennessee +5
3* UNDER 36.5 (I am buying the hook to 37, key #)
Saturday Recap:
Well, the only 5* I have in preseason comes up a bit short with KC and the Browns combining for 40 points and 2 short of the closing number. Winners with NE on the hook, TB UNDER, Atlanta OVER and VT/USC UNDER and VT +16.
The Patriots stole defeat from the jaws of victory with a dumb call on 4th down from the 24 yard line of Carolina, going for it and having Kliffie K. throw a pick that cost them the game when the Panthers move down and score. A field goal ices it for NE and yes, I know it's preseason but still questionable decisionmaking in that situation. The hook gets us the win anyway. Both NFL totals in Tampa and Atlanta fell close to what was predicted even though I had expected Vick to play as does the call on the USC/VT side and total so overall a very good day.
