  • Two dogs

I only play dogs or very small favorites. Two stick out tonight:

    Toronto +170
Boston is only 31-32 on the road while Toronto is 31-30 at home. That's a dead even matchup. Schilling's ERA in his last three is 4.05. Towers, on the other hand, is 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his last three and is 9-4 on the year for a team that is 20 games under .500! Correct line should be pick 'em.
    Value is on Toronto.

    Pittsburgh +123
This one is easier to explain. Continuing to make Arizona a favorite, and on the road to boot, is insane. Lines on Randy Johnson are finally approaching reality but haven't gotten there yet. Earlier this year, he was being valued at -200. This game it's down to -131 but the facts are the same. Johnson wins only half his decisions and the D-Backs have lost more than half his starts (several no-decisions blown by the bullpen). Pittsburgh's not that good either and Fogg is only so-so but is 1-1 with a 3.50 ERA in his last three starts. Going against Johnson this year has produced an enormous ROI and tonight is another good time to do it.

As always, remember that when you play two baseball dogs, you need to win only one to make money.

Small profit, despite being horrendously wrong about Toronto. That's why I love playing dogs. As for Arizona, favoring them on the road is nuts. Johnson pitches brilliantly and they still lose. Why? Becaue Cy Young couldn't win with the D-Backs, who are worse than the 02 Tigers if you take Randy off the team.
