I'm with you on that bet ... Sounds like someone's trying to dupe people by using Northcoast's plays as the bait.

    It's a poorly designed scheme

Coverboy-I thought of two other nasty possibilities.
      1) They could get your $10000 and go under and you would be out of luck.
      2) Also and more realistically(and I imagine this might apply to other sportsbooks in cahoots with other services) is the fact that if Royal is giving away NorthCoast's Executive picks, which is virtually every pick released including GOY's, it would seem to me that they might adjust the line in NorthCoast's plays so that you don't get the best of it, thus forcing you to bet the games elsewhere; and meantime they have your money and hope you will bet some other games on your own and lose with your other plays.
I can't wait until next week when I call NorthCoast to get their take on this scheme if in fact it was done with their knowledge.
From what I can see at this point, it would seem to me that these guys should change their name from Royal Sports to Royal Screw.

Ok folks-I called NorthCoast Sports today and spoke to Debbie.
She stated that this deal WAS sponsored by NorthCoast, and that it is a legitimate offer.
I told her the two inserts were very misleading and gave impression that one could receive the $3500 Executive Service AND receive a 35% signup bonus, and that nothing was said about the $10000 required to be sent in order to receive the service.
She stated that it was clearly stated on the sheets that person would receive 35% on NorthCoast products up to the maximum of $3500.
On one of sheets it is stated that all NorthCoast Products are NO CHARGE by signing up with Royal Sports and again there was no mention of the $10000 required to receive the maximum;at the very least these inserts are very slickly written and give the average reader a false impression about what one has to do to recieve the benefits.
If I understood her correctly, she stated that upon receipt of the funds, Royal Sports would notify NorthCoast of receipt of payment, and then NorthCoast would give the person the 35% of THEIR up to the maximum of The Executive Service valued at $3500;I should have asked her what NorthCoast received in return from Royal but forgot.
I told Debbie that I personally think a deal like this gives a sports service a bad name, as Royal also will know the Executive Picks and adjust lines accordingly;she stated that Royal Sports will NOT be getting the Executive Picks, only the customer-yeah right!
At the very least as stated above I think inserts are very poorly written either by design or carelessness(doesn't really matter) and give the reader a false impression of the conditions surrounding this offer.
In addition, I frown on ANY service which has ties to a sportsbook;the possibilities arfe endless and none of them in the bettor's interest over the long haul.
ps If any of you received the same offer, why not call NorthCoast yourself (800-6543448) and speak to Debbie and voice your complaints if you agree with me or have other issues.
ps I am not sure of this(and I don't want to call her back), but the more I think about it, the more I think she said that whatever amount of money the customer sends Royal, that Royal would send NorthCoast 35% of it.
If that is true, then the whole tie smells even worse than what I stated above previously.

Final word-If someone knows the wedding date between NorthCoast Sports and RoyalSports, please let me know, as I would like to attend; I will even offer to be an usher and hand out free copies of PowerSweep to all of those who attend.

At the risk of being a Northcoast apologist, I'll weigh in on this because i have some solid info.

First of all, Millenium's operation (huge and owns numerous books in Costa Rica) recently invested in Royal. I've never had a problem with Royal although I did hit a big big winner this summer (huge bet on Rusty Wallace at 10-1 to win a NASCAR race) and waited a couple of months to request a payout. They paid, but did put me threw a couple of asinine hoops---send a copy of your drivers license by fax, etc.) but they DID pay in full and I got the money within nine days.

As for Steele, who some like to rip, I believe he is very honest and doesn't engage in the hyping tactics I've ripped others for on this forum. He has only four Games of the year (pro, college, postseason pro and bowl). His highest rated play is only 5* and there are no more than four of them a year (sometimes a post-season Goy is only 4 1/2*). He is so lucrative I can't imagine him doing something crooked that would harm that aspect of his reputation.

Basically, he's been a 50 percent guy in college for a couple of years (rotten but not Marc Lawrence level) but is just awesome on the higher rated plays. He hits almost all games of the year---TEN in a row until last year's post-season. The key on using him to blast the tar out of his really big plays and be modest with the others. I've been with Northcoast forever and track the plays and can tell you he has never ever lied about his records (although he does carry on about the winners like most do).

I don't know about his deal with Royal but will bet he'll drop it if they aren't being straight. His main deal is with Millenium and they do honor his big promise which is to hold his lines for 30 minutes after being released if you are a verified Steele client. Since Steele's plays chronically move the lines within one minute after release, this is big for me.

Coonsis, if you play only his 4* and above plays, I'm almost certain you'll profit this year unless you mistakenly vary your wager too much on a loser. I know just about every scam in the sports service business and can tell you I have never ever felt conned by Steele, although I sure have suffered through some losing weekends, like everyone else.

The comment by Bettos about fiscal trouble at Royal makes me consider pulling a little more money out but the recent cash infusion from Millenium probably has them on solid ground. The key to playing with offshores is the same as with the greasebag local---never let them get too far behind you on payouts. Hope this helps

Griswold-I agree with everything you said about NorthCoast, as I have followed him for years, but those two handouts with my comp. issue of PowerSWeep gave me a very misleading perception of what I had to do in order to receive free Executive Service(which in all honesy I would not be interested in no matter what as all of his plays are posted for free).
The person who answered the phone for NorthCoast when I called, while polite, was a little snippy and didn't want to examine my points very carefully.
My last post about the "wedding" should be taken more in humor than anything else.
In all honesy I didn't realize Millenium held the lines, and if the same is true about Royal, then I am incorrect in one of points I made.
In any event, I think in the future Mr. Steele and his staff should have an average potential customer read the inserts first before sending them out;the ones sent to me this time were misleading, and if I didn't know about the honorable way in which Mr. Steele runs his service, I would say it was disceptive also.

To bring this up to date, yesterday I received my complimentary copy of this week's Powersweep with the same misleading inserts and ads promoting the 35% deal between Royal Sports and Northcoast.
Considering Northcoast's horrendous start in the pre season NFL, I would also be thrilled if I managed/owned Royal Sports to be giving free Executive Service to NorthCoast customers who sign up, send money, play Northcoast plays and then LOSE their money.
What's in this for Northcoast?;use your own judgment. I know what I think.

The plot thickens; Northcoast has another horrible night and goes 0-3 tonight, and this is second week of the shady looking deal between them and Royal sport as stated on the inserts.
I would think Well Royal Sports must be getting rich with the money bet by Northcoast customers with all of the losing picks of late.
Is there anything in this for Northcoast?
Well, we all know of the term kickoff in football;what about KICKBACK here???????
ps In all the years I have followed Northcoast Sports I have NEVER heard him use an outside gimmick like this; I always thought he was above ths kind of thing.
Thus, you can understand my skepticism.

Sounds like another National Sports Consultants scam. They got kick backs from books as well.

Think Feist as well. He owns a sportsbook.
