3 Wise Men Report – Monday 8/16
3 Wise Men …..
My fantasy team won the first playoff round . Round 2 starts tonight. Wish me luck.
On one hand we can count the number of times that we were snookered in the 9th inning and tagged with a loss but yesterday it happened to us TWICE. In Montreal The Expos gave up a 4-2 lead in the 9th and lost 5-4. Livan Hernandez was relieved by the World Famous Luis Ayala ( who will never be confused with the likes of Eric Gagne, Dennis Eckersley and Mariano Rivera ) . In Milwaukee Danny Kolb ( a pretty fair reliever ) and The Brewers gave up a 2 run lead in the 9th and lost it in the 10 th … by 2 runs. We had them at +1 ½ runs.
All in all no need to complain one single bit … it’s been a pretty straight forward and profitable season…. Besides … bitching about losses is meaningless … Montreal and Milwaukee both were the wrong sides because they lost…. Plain and simple. Don’t kid yourselves – you NEVER have the right side when it loses. I hear people saying that once in a while … “ You had the right side – too bad it lost “ . Try buying a Jaguar and give that story to the dealer’s salesman.
