SEATTLE at GREEN BAY
Quarterbacks Matt Hasselbeck and Seneca Wallace are the only experienced and healthy passers who made the trip as both Trent Dilfer and Brock Huard are injured. Hasselbeck is expected to play the first quarter with Wallace receiving most of the game’s action under center.
Bryson Spinner, who was signed last Thursday, could take some late-game snaps according to coach Mike Holgren.
The starters on both sides of the ball are expected to play about a quarter.
All Pro left guard Steve Hutchinson and receiver Koren Robinson are among the 11 injured players who did not make the trip. Defensive end Grant Winstrom will not play because he hasn’t passed his physical.
Green Bay coach Mike Sherman has said that starting quarterback Brett Favre will play no more than a quarter tonight. Backup Tim Couch, who missed several practices last week due to soreness in his elbow and biceps, will be a game-time decision. Couch has indicated he will play, though.
Doug Pederson and rookie Scott McBrien will both see time under center tonight, but Craig Nall is out with a hamstring injury.
Sherman said running back Ahman Green, who has been slowed by a sore foot, would start but see very limited action. Defensive tackle Donnell Washington is out with a foot injury while linebacker Tyreo Harrison, who has been bothered by a sore ankle, is listed as doubtful.
CINCINNATI at TAMPA BAY
Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer will start and play into the second quarter. He could play most of the first half according to coach Marvin Lewis. He’ll be followed by Jon Kitna, while rookies Casey Bramlet and Scott Rislov will finish things up.
Because the game was postponed two days due to Hurricane Charley, rookie running back Chris Perry, who ended his 10-day holdout last Tuesday, will get some snaps in.
A quartet of starters, wide receiver Peter Warrick, fullback Jeremi Johnson, tight end Reggie Kelly and left guard Eric Steinbach, are not expected to play due to injury.
Tampa Bay starting quarterback Brad Johnson is expected to play only a couple of series before being relieved by Chris Simms in the first quarter. Brian Griese will replace Simms sometime in the second half.
Starters out with injuries include wide receiver Joe Jurevicius, linebackers Derrick Brooks, Shelton Quarles and Jeff Gooch, as well as offensive linemen Derrick Deese, Matt Stinchcomb and Kerry Jenkins.
Running back Charlie Garner and receiver Tim Brown will be game-time decisions.Courtesy of www.BigGreenMachine.net - Where Every Play, Everyday is Always Free
