  • Strong total in late action

I virtually never play baseball totals but the Baltimore-Anaheim game tonight seems to be a stickout at 9 runs (-130). Both teams are red hot: the Orioles with seven wins in a row and the Angels with four in a row. both are doing it with hitting which is very unusual for baseball hot streaks. The Orioles have scroed 52 runs in their last seven games! Anaheim has scored 29 in the last five. In addition, Baltimore's starter, Cabrera, has been inconsistent lately. Anaheim's starter, Sele, is 7-0 solely because the Angels keep scoring runs for him. I see the line at either 9 with heavier juice or 9 1/2 at about even money. I'd take the nine and lay the money. This game has 7-5 written all over it.

    Other opinions:

    dogs---Montreal and Tampa

favorites---St. Louis and Atlanta (but the price on the Braves is too high for me)

Wish they were all this easy

Baltimore went over the total (final score 11-3) by itself and could have scored even more as the Orioles had 20 hits and left an incredible 16 men on base.

On the minor opinions, the Expos won at +115, the Cards won at -140, the D-Rays lost at +190 and the Barves (which I didn't play because I don't lay big numbers on baseball) lost at -180.

For what it's worth, and I think it means a lot, Baltimore is a big dog on Wednesday night despite eight wins in a row and 63 runs in their last eight games.

Griswold. Nice pick on the Total. I parleyed it with Seattle to end a nice night. Thanks.
