    Colorado -125 over Cincinnati

We were right the first two games of this series, so let's see if we and the Rockies can make a sweep out of it. Cincinnati has struggled all year against lefties. They are hitting only .233 against lefties in their last 10. Fassero has pitched well as the Rockies have won four of his last five starts. Lidle hasn't pitched well with an ERA of 9.98 in his last three starts.

      MASTERBETS

Cubs (Wood) @ Giants (Lowry): Bet the Giants (+1.5 runs on the run-line) to win at -120.

Our free MLB picks cashed in over 80% in the month of July. Over the last 2 months our FREE baseball picks are now 19 - 6, or 76% winning plays, which is quite remarkable. We are releasing this baseball pick free of charge as a way of showcasing our premium service to the general betting public.

Those of you who follow our picks regularly will know that one of our favorite "angles" in baseball handicapping is to take home dogs that are .500 or better at home (or .500 or better overall, which is rare to find). The Giants are way above .500 at home this season, and their overall record is above average as well. Yet, they are +140 to win this one straight up, which is the wrong line in our opinion. It's fine for oddsmakers because all those casual sports gamblers (the 95% that pay the bills) have heard of Wood but who the heck is Lowry? How can he possibly beat the Cubs?

Well, Lowry has been exceptional as a starter for the Giants this season. His 4 previous starts saw him concede a TOTAL of 3 Earned Runs, and last time out he threw his first CG giving up 0 runs at home to the Reds. Wood deserves to be the favorite of course, but the Giants are at home with a decent starter of their own, and are huge value at this line. In fact, we recommend taking the 1.5 run headstart on the Giants and betting the runline where they are -120. You're still getting a great return, plus you don't have to sweat it out if the Cubs end up squeezing home in a close one.

Bet the Giants (+1.5 runs) to win at -120,

Free pick of the Day: (5-1 this week, 5-1 last week)

          8-08-04- Braves/ Diamondbacks
          Winner: Under 9.5

REASON: I do not see a lot of runs being scored in this game. First of all the weather will be in the 100's, that is tough on anybody no matter if the roof is closed or not. Then we have Russ Ortiz who is the master of the under. He has had 15 games go under this season including his last 4. He is also going against one of the worst offenses around. Fossum has not been so pretty lately. Though he has a 7.61 ERA in his last 3, 2 of those went under. He also shutdown the Marlins pretty well in his last outing. Sunday can also be a day of substitutes. Take the under

          TRACE ADAMS

17-5 last 22 as the Tribe and Sox head OVER the total late for me yesterday!

Today willing to give the miserable Brewers a chance against the Marlins. I like Chirs Capuano to rebound from his last outing which saw him get roughed up against the Mets.

Milwaukee has lost their last 5, so the "due theory" applies today.

Dontrelle Willis is no sure thing at home this year, as the "D"-Train has been derailed in 5 of his 9 decisions at Pro Player. Like the payback on the Brewers at this price, and will go with Capuano to his team a chance to win it at the plate.

          2* Milwaukee w/Capuano

We're on a 81-50-2 run with our last 133 complimentary releases

For Sunday take the Chicago Cubs to beat San Francisco

The Cubs carried Maddux to his 300th win on Saturday and with Kerry Wood pitching on Sunday they are poised for back-to-back wins.

Wood is 6-4 with a 2.97 ERA this season. For the sixth time in seven starts Wood will be starting on the road where he has excelled away from Wrigley. The Cubs are 7-3 in the last 10 games and 3-1 in Wood's last four road starts.

You gotta give Giants starter Noah Lowry credit for starting his big league career off strong. He is 1-0 with a 2.43 ERA in four stars and the Giants have won both of his home starts. The Cubs won't go as easily as the Reds did in his last start. San Fran is 3-5 on their current homestand.

Wood will pitch strong and the Cubs will show Lowry what the major leagues are really like.

            SEAN MICHAELS

This run with free winners is just fantastic. I give you a juicy dog on Saturday with Seattle. How great is this free pick run. I am 45-19, 23-10 in the NL and 22-9 in the AL.

That is on fire people. I love the White Sox today. There is no way in hell the Indians sweep this team. Just not going to happen. I love the fact that Elarton is pitching. He can't win.

I have Contreas pitching in a relaxed atmosphere and out of New York. He won his first start and he will make it 2 in a row. This is like stealing. I mean stealing and I will grab it all day long.

            5* CHICAGO WHITE SOX

              Milwaukee vs. Florida
Play Under Game Total of 8

Both Milwaukee and Florida have struggled hitting lefties this season, combining to hit .26 points worse against southpaws than against right handers in 2004. The Brewers, in particular, are struggling to hit any sort of good pitching of late, scoring three runs or less in 14 of their 23 games since the All Star break. Milwaukee was shut out again yesterday, managing only three hits against Ismael Valdez and three Florida relievers. Runs won’t be much easier to come by this afternoon facing Dontrelle Willis, dominant in each of his last three home starts, allowing just four runs in over nineteen innings of work during that span. But the Marlins aren’t exactly tearing the cover off the ball themselves, and Brewers starter Chris Capuano has been a pleasant surprise for manager Ned Yost, with a nasty strikeout pitch (66 K’s in 72 innings), and a propensity for pitching games Under the total (8-5 to the Under in his last 13 games). Even home plate umpire Brian Runge is a strike-caller behind home plate – his games calling balls and strikes are 13-5 to the Under in 2004. Put it all together and we’ve got a recipe for a low scoring game at Pro Player Stadium this afternoon.

              Recommendation: Under

*Tampa Bay (-121) vs. Seattle (Bell vs. Moyer)

Tampa looks to take the rubber match of this series today at home. Home plate umpire Joe West has been a true homer thus far 2004. Home teams are 17-7 in games he's umpired this season and 58-34 over the last three, which helps our cause a bit here. Seattle is also only 54-54 (-38.5 Units) when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season over the last 3 seasons. Tampa's Bell is 7-1 (+7.0 Units) in home games vs. AL teams scoring 4.7 or less runs/game in the second half of the season since 1997. Seattle is 3-19 (-15.2 Units) in road games in the second half of the season this season. One unit on the Devil Rays in this one.
