Season record: 186-186 -15.43 UNITS
Six plays for Friday:
OVER 9 NYM (TRACHSEL)/ATL (HAMPTON) +104 - 1 UNIT - 4:35pm Pacific
Trachsel is a totally different pitcher on the road, where he has a 6.69 ERA and 11 HRs allowed in only 39+ innings. The Mets have hit Hampton reasonably well, so I think both offenses will put some runs on the board.
MON (HERNANDEZ) +157 over Fla (Beckett) - 1 UNIT - 4:35pm Pacific
Beckett had a blister problem that landed him on the DL, and this will be his first game back. In my opinion, he's just as likely to leave this start after 30 pitches as he is to be the dominant pitcher he can be. Therefore, I think this number represents some nice value, especially with Hernandez on the mound.
UNDER 8 PIT (BURNETT)/MIL (DAVIS) +104 - 1 UNIT - 5:05pm Pacific
Both teams have been pretty horrible against lefties. Davis has been pretty consistent all year long; Burnett was shaky in his last outing, but he has good stuff, so Milwaukee should continue to have problems.
UNDER 7 LA (WEAVER)/SD (EATON) -119 - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific
Eaton owns the Dodgers, and he continued in his last start, going 7 IP and giving up only 1 hit at Dodger Stadium. He usually puts in these types of performances against L.A., so it wouldn't shock me if he continues today. I don't envision the Dodgers doing much, so it will take an offensive outburst by the Padres to put this one over. I can't see that happening with Weaver on the mound in this ballpark.
BAL (CABRERA) +180 over NYY (Brown) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
This will be Brown's first start in seven weeks. Torre hasn't indicated whether or not he'll keep Brown on a pitch count, but this seems like a high number for his first game back. I'll take the value here and hope that some rustiness will show.
BOS (ARROYO) -121 over Min (Lohse) - 1 UNIT - 5:10pm PacificGLTA

Houston Astros at Cincinnati Reds
Friday, July 30 7:10 P.M. EDT EST
Interesting match of two clubs that started strong but now have faded to also ran status. Houston has tried trades and a managerial change to no avail while Cincinnati is now enduring yet another Ken Griffey, Jr. season-ending injury. The Reds do drop in class after getting swept by the Cards and have Aaron Harang on the hill who has pitched well in three of his last four. But the Astros Pete Munro can counter with two stronger outings since his return to the rotation.
Good Luck - Robert Ross

Vegas Experts Tip of the Day
Montreal Expos at Florida Marlins, Friday, July 30, 7:35 P.M. EDT EST
Livan Hernandez won Sunday but still allowed 4 ER in 8-plus IP. He draws a tougher mound opponent this time in Josh Beckett. The Marlins have won 6 of Beckett's 9 starts at home. The Expos are 16-34 on the road including 3-13 in Game 1 of a Road series and 7-20 on the road vs. teams with a winning record.
