PIT (BENSON) +137 over Atl (Byrd) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Benson has really_raised his level of play since his 5/31 start._ Since then, he has allowed ZERO HRs, and his control rate has been at career best levels._ Byrd has looked pretty good since his return from injury, but chances are that he'll slow down sooner than later._ Benson should outpitch him in this one, and the_offense should be able to put up a few against Byrd._
_
SD (PEAVY) -105 over SF (Rueter) - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific
San Diego hits very well on the road; the same_holds true when they face_LHP._ They will be on the road to face a below average lefty, so I like their chances here, especially with Peavy on the mound._
_
CHW (BUEHRLE) +105 over Cle (Lee) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
I like Buehrle's chances to pitch well against Cleveland, as their lineup doesn't hit LHP as well as RHP._ Lee has pitched well this year, but the Sox's lineup is heavily dominated by righties, and they should always be considered when facing lefties._ With Buehrle on the mound, I think this is a favorable matchup for them.
Angels (Escobar) @ Rangers (Drese): Bet the Rangers to win at -120.
Our free MLB picks are now 4-1 in the month of July. Our latest offering is plucked from the heated battle for the AL West division, where the Angels have the difficult task of trying to win a road game in Texas. The Rangers have one of the best home records in all of baseball, and when Drese is pitching for them in Arlington they are even tougher to beat. His home ERA of 1.91 is second-best in the AL, and in his 9 home starts the Rangers are 7-2. Even more impressive is the list of teams that Drese and the Rangers have beaten at home: the Yankees, the Cardinals, and the Red Sox.
The Angels will be competitive with Escobar on the mound, but the line of -120 is well worth the play, especially when you factor in the very dissapointing form of the Angels since the break. They were roughed up at home by the Indians, and they are 8-8 in the month of July. The Rangers could prove hard to beat in this key series opener, but look for the Angels to battle back on Thursday and split the 2 games.
Certainly a risk here as the Cardinals have won six straight with Williams. But if St. Louis would ever experience a letdown it would come after rallying from six runs down against their top rival in the Cubs. The line maker isn’t giving Victor Santos much respect here despite his 7-0 road record and his 2.84 ERA. Something else I like about Santos. The guy doesn’t give up home runs. Only five permitted in 2004 in almost 88 innings. Plus St. Louis has never faced him while Milwaukee is getting their 3rd crack against Williams this season. With the all-star break Williams has only thrown once since July 7th. It could be tough for the veteran to get loose. The Brewers didn’t look good at Cincinnati but nobody expected this team to be two games over .500 on July 21st. Let’s take a shot with the puppy here. Let's face it. Anything can happen in baseball as we witnessed once again Tuesday night. Trachsel has a home ERA of 1.70 on the season and gives up six 1st inning runs. The Mets bail him out and lead 7-6 after three innings and don't score again?
Brew Crew pull off the stunner +160.

Milwaukee Santos (+165) over St.Louis Williams
We've been riding the Red birds for the largest part of their 36-12(13-2
recently) run. They now have the best record in MLB at a 10 game
division lead in the loss column. They come from behind 11-8 win
yesterday, after trailing 8-2 vs. the Cubs is a buy sign for the let down.
The Brewers have been uot performing expectations all season with a
current 47-45 record. Santos is 7-0 away with a 2.84 eras and in good
current form with an era of 2.95 L3. Solid big dog opportunity with the
Brew Crew.
