    _Two_plays for_Sunday:_

    UNDER 10 ATL (ORTIZ)/PHI (WOLF) -109 -_1 UNIT _10:35am Pacific

Ortiz has been on a pretty dominant run as of late, and Wolf has performed well against Atlanta._ 10 runs is a lot for these two pitchers, given the way they are currently pitching, so I'll take the under._

          MLB ACTION
          NY Mets @ Florida
          SUNDAY,JULY 11, 2004

(Leiter)/Florida(Willis)- UNDER -Todays pitcher for the Mets(Leiter) leads the NL in ERA and is in top form. The veteran left-hander is an impressive 3-0 in his L3 starts with a 1.77 ERA and 0.93 WHIP. His pitching opponent (Willis)despite struggling of late has pitched extremely well in the past against the Mets and has a a 4-0 lifetime record along with a minuscule 0.64 ERA. Bottom line: Considering Leiters current top form and Willis past pitching dominance in head to head tilts against the Mets a play on the UNDER seems a very viable wagering proposition.

Facts Before the All Star Break

As we all know Baseball is a game of streaks and numbers. We did our research to find what the key number is to bet on or against a certain team the day before the all star break. The key number for us is 5, teams that have won or lost 5 consecutive games prior to the Sunday before the All Star break have a record of 42 – 12 the last 54 games. That is flat out scary.

                Here is what we do:

BOSTON RED SOX WINNERS OF 5 STRAIGHT MAKE IT 6 TODAY –150

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS WINNERS OF 8 STRAIGHT MAKE IT 9 TODAY -125

CHICAGO WHITE SOX ARE PLAYING SEATTLE WHO LOST 8 IN A ROW, TODAY THEY WILL LOSE 9, YOUR PLAY WOULD BE THE WHITE SOX -165

**** Please note the Chicago Cubs lost 5 in a row and the St. Louis Cardinals won 8 in a row. Using this system it’s a perfect 11 – 0 when you have a winner facing a loser and the winning team is home.

WE WILL USE THIS GAME TODAY AS OUR GAME OF THE YEAR, AS THIS SYSTEM AND SITUATION HAS NEVER LOST AND THAT’S A FACT.

ATLANTA (Ortiz) +$110 over PHILADELPHIA (Wolf)
Russ Ortiz was 1-2 in April with a 5.61 ERA. Since that time
he's won 7 of his last 10 decisions, has allowed three or
less earned runs in five of his last six starts and is 2-0
                  in July with a 0.61 ERA and a .200 BAA. He's been a key
factor in the Braves' resurgence (won 10 of 13). Conversely,
Randy Wolf has bee ineffective in his last two starts with
                  a 5.40 ERA and a 14.7 H/W ratio.

                  Detroit at Minnesota
Home-plate umpire for this game, John Hirschbeck, is on the All-Star game crew. He has to fly to Houston after this. Will he want a long game? Of course not! Most of the players have planes to catch all over the place. Since Hirschbeck is outta there as well, with an assignment to prepare for, he figures to do everyone a solid and get 'em the heck out of the park and onto a plane -- ASAP!

                    JEFF BENTON

Ok, lets close out the first half of the baseball season with a nice free winner for Sunday.

Understand, this free pick run is 15-6 last 21. How nice has that been? Here we go today.

I still am not a believer in Dontrelle Willis. I just am not impressed. I believe teams have caught up with him and I am coming back with the Mets today. Glavine gave up a 4 spot in the first 3 innings and the Mets couldn't bounce back.

Leiter will do what Glavine couldn't do and that is beat the Marlins.

                        Play On: Cards(Carpenter)

How badly are the linemakers begging you to take the Cardinals?
St. Louis has won 8 straight and the Cubs have dropped 5 in a row. Cardinals are 43-13 at Busch vs. the Cubs since 1997.

                        K. Wood comes off the disabled list after a two month stint and has a 5-5 lifetime record against the Redbirds. C.Carpenter take the hill with a 9-3 record and a 2.14 ERA at home.

St. Louis is 18-4 81% against the money line with an on base percentage of .350 or better over their last 20 games this season.

Cardinals are 14-1 93% this year against the ML vs. teams outscoring opp by 0.5 or more runs/game on the season.

If the linemakers want us to take St. Louis who is only -120, then that works for us.

For Sunday take Boston to beat Texas

Boston throttled the Rangers on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon will be no different. The road team in this series has lost 12 of the last 13.

The Red Sox have now won six of their last seven including the first two games of this series.

Knuckleballer Tim Wakefield is 5-4 with a 3.97 ERA but has shown vast improvement in his latest starts. Wakefield is 1-0 with a 0.43 ERA in his last three starts.

Rangers starter Ryan Drese is 4-5 with a 3.82 ERA. In his nine road starts this year Drese has four losses and five no decisions.

The Red Sox are 30-14 at home and will finish off this series sweep. Just the momentum the Sox need headed to the break.

                            JULY: 8-1

                            Boston -150 over Texas

We can't get off of the Red Sox bandwagon now. The Red Sox are crushing the ball and have won five in a row. This is the offensive team that set records last year. At this point their isn't an out in the lineup. Wakefield going today and he is pitching very well since his good outing against the Yanks last week. Drese is 0-4 with a 5.67 ERA on the road this year. We can't see it getting any better today.
