-- WinOnBaseball handicaps Major League Baseball exclusively.

-- All plays with analysis, along with current and past season records, will be updated weekly on the "Records" page of our website.

-- All records will be documented at National Sports Monitor (*********.com)

-- NEXT UPDATE will be sent before 6:00am Pacific on Tuesday, July 6th.

      Season record: 162-165 -17.93 UNITS

Lines from Pinnacle current as of 11:55pm Pacific on 07/04/04.

      Four plays for Monday:

      SF (TOMKO) -157 over Col (Cook) - 1 UNIT - 1:05pm Pacific
Colorado begins another road trip, so I will be betting blindly against them for the first three games, as I have been for most of the season using the "Coors hangover effect" theory.

      UNDER 9 COL (COOK)/SF (TOMKO) - 1 UNIT - 1:05pm Pacific
Cook has been good on the road, with a 3.12 ERA. Colorado's offense stinks on the road, and in a park like SBC, it will make them even worse. I don't expect many runs to be scored by the Rockies, so as long as Cook does not implode, I think this should be pretty safe.

      HOU (CLEMENS) -119 over SD (Lawrence) - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific

      TEX (ROGERS) +114 over Cle (Sabathia) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Sabathia left his last start due to a shoulder injury. He threw a bullpen session and didn't report any problems, but he will be facing a potent Texas lineup. If he is not at 100%, then I will gladly take Rogers plus the number. Cleveland has not done so well against lefties, and Rogers is having a great year, so I can't envision the Tribe's offense having much success today.

PLEASE NOTE: All wagers are recommended for a "base" unit. Thus a side for 1 UNIT at -110 should be considered risking 1.10 UNITS to win 1.00 UNITS, while a team at +110 should be considered risking 1.00 UNITS to win 1.10 UNITS

New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies
          Monday, July 5, 2004 7:05 p.m. EST

Confident Mets face a Phillies club that can't be too confident of its starting pitcher in this one. Tampa Bay & Philly are a combined 4-9 when Paul Abbott takes the hill and over his last nine starts he has allowed 37 ER in 39 IP: an 8.54 ERA!
          Good Luck-Robert Ross

          Play on: New York Mets

Vegas Experts Tip of the Day

Atlanta Braves at Montreal Expos, Monday, July 5, 2004 7:05 P.M. EST EST

Expos ordinarily play the Braves tough. With their strong bullpen they should be able to back up starter Day in this one. Braves starter Byrd is 4-11 as a road favorite going back to '97. The Braves defense has been suspect all year. The Expos are a good fielding club and good fielding teams (averaging less than .5 errors/game) playing at home in the 2nd half of the season are 91-38 over the past 5 seasons.

            Play on: Montreal

35 days after two stints on the DL, we're more than happy
to take an underdog that has won nine straight games by

                          SGH

We're on a 65-36-2 run with our last 103 complimentary releases including a 4-0 run after Cincinnati beat Cleveland on Sunday

For Monday take Los Angeles to beat Arizona.

LA starter Wilson Alvarez is getting stronger with each start while Arizona starter Brandon Webb is 3-8 with a 3.82 ERA and the D'Backs are 6-11 when Webb starts.

The Dodgers have won 4 of 6 from Arizona this season and the D'Backs have lost six straight on the road part of a 14-26 road record this season. The Dodgers are 23-16 at home including three of their last four.

The Dodgers have the best defense in baseball and if they get to Eric "Game Over" Gange then, well its game over and another LA win.
