Today’s Free Pick in MLB: LA -110 (Lima) over Anaheim (Washburn)
The Dodgers are 5-2 in Lima's last seven starts.
Los Angeles is 5-1 against the money line at home with a money line of -100 to -125 this season.

Lima is 5-1 against the money line in games played on a grass field this season.
Lima is 16-7 against the money line when pitching in night games over the last 3 seasons.
Lima has only given up 8 runs in his last 4 starts, and LA’s bullpen has been able to keep a lead in the late innings to give the ball to Gagne who is money in the bank.

MLB Selection Inside
Chi Cubs at Chi White Sox
Game Info: 4:05 pm EDT Fri Jun 25, 2004
Mark Prior has had mixed results since returning from the disabled list.
The right-hander will be looking for some consistency as the Chicago Cubs open the first round of their Windy City series with the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.
Prior has made just four starts this year after missing the first part of the season with a sore Achilles' tendon and tender elbow.
The right-hander allowed three earned runs and six hits in five innings of the Cubs' 4-3 win over Mark Mulder and the Oakland Athletics on Saturday, but did not receive a decision. He looked relatively solid in all but the third inning, when he gave up four hits and three runs.
White Sox+130.

PPP
A very disappointing 2-2 day on Thursday, losing more than 1/2 a unit.
Expos, Tony Armas with an 8.31 ERA won his first game in 14 months when he
held the Phillies to 3 hits and no runs in 6 innings of work. Our other
loss saw Ted Lilly of the Blue Jays who had a 1.77 ERA in L3 starts allow
Tampa Bay, the worst hitting team in the league, to score 6 runs in 3
innings. So much for well handicapped plays. However, customer
appreciation clients who are on the voice mail were treated to a 3-0 late
call at 6:45 pm EST. If you want to get that late information via
telephone, call me toll-free at 1-800-678-7529.
New York Yankees with Halsey (-140) over NY Mets with Leiter
The best team in baseball laying less than -150 at home, sign us up.
Mets'' Leiter has pitched solid baseball all season, including a 3.19 ERA
on the road. Yet, in only 3 of his 11 starts has he pitched past the 6th
inning, giving the Yankees a huge advantage in the last third of the game.
For all of Leiter''s trouble, his Mets are 1-5 in his road starts. Halsey
made a solid start in LA, beating the Dodgers 6-2. Yankees own this
cross-town series, 24-12, stand 23-9 at home while the Mets are just 14-20
away.
Florida (-125 action) over Tampa Bay
As you know from looking at MLB standings, there is only one team playing
600 or better baseball in the Majors. It ain''t the Devil Rays, who are
below .500 despite going 24-7 and 13-1. It would take an act of God for
us not to play against them today and in the days to come.
St. Louis with Morris (-140) over Kansas City with Greinke
Here''s another series where we''ll be looking to play the Cards the
entire weekend. They have the best road record in baseball at 23-12 and
are averaging over 5 runs per game. The Royals are a .500 team at home
with significantly less offensive fire power. Though Cards'' starter
Morris is not in his all-star form, he''s a far more proven commodity than
is Greinke.
San Francisco with Schmidt (-130) over Oakland with Zito
Giants have really turned things around with improved hitting since their
horrible start to at least match the A''s offensive potentcy. With
neither bullpen distinguishing itself, we''ll look to make this a pure
"starter" play. Oakland''s Zito has under-performed all year with Oakland
winning only 50% of his starts both at home and overall. He''s allowed
131 BR in 86 IP resulting in a 4.81 ERA (6.60 L3 starts). Schmidt has
been a monster since returning from the IL. He''s won 9 consecutive
decisions, comes off a 1 hit shutout of the Red Sox and in 91 and two
thirds innings has allowed just 57 hits. He has a 103/28 K/BB ratio, a
1.24 road ERA and a 1.19 ERA L3.
Fully realize we are playing 4 favorites of less than 150, meaning a 3-1
day is needed for profit. Though I fully expect to win all 4, remember
that we are looking to make profit in the long term, not just 1 day.

Season record: 138-156 -33.86 UNITS
Lines from Pinnacle current as of 12:54am Pacific on 06/24/04.
Two plays for Friday:
MIN (SANTANA) -175 over Mil (Obermueller) - 1 UNIT - 5:10pm Pacific
I don't usually feel comfortable laying this big of a line, but I believe Santana has reverted back to his dominant self and should be one the best in the league from here on out. In his last three starts, he has a 2.05 ERA and 31/2 KK/B ratio, including a dominating 12 K performance against the Brewers his last time out. Milwaukee is bad against lefties, and Obermueller possesses only average stuff, so Minnesota should be a safe play here.
SF (SCHMIDT) -135 over Oak (Zito) - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific
Schmidt is the best pitcher in the league right now, pitching high quality starts in nine out of his last ten games. The only concern here is his workload, but he showed no signs of slowing down in his last game in which his pitch count was at 133. Zito has been erratic, and he continues to have control problems and his HR rate and extra base hits allowed are up.
