Tonight marks the 5th road game out of six contests for lowly Towson State. I’ve gone against this team personally on several occasions and will also publicly tonight. Towson! State lost to VCU at home by 35 points 82-47 back on January 29th. This is one of those games we should be thankful that somebody has the guts to post a line. In their most recent four road games Towson State has been outscored by 97 points. That’s nothing short of pathetic. Ball-handling is not exactly the strength with this team. Towson State might lead the nation in turnovers as they’ve committed 177 miscues in their last eight games for an average of more than 22 per contest. When they last met on this floor two years ago, VCU won by 23 points and scored 91 while doing so. VCU followed that 35-point ambush at Towson State with an upset at Old Dominion this past Saturday. VCU is 21-8 ATS the last three years after playing a road game and 16-4 ATS if they were listed as a road puppy last time out. Towson State is 1-6 ATS this year when trying to revenge a loss of 10 points or more to the same opponent. VCU is 15-2 ATS the last three years when they allow 59 poin! ts or less and Towson State has averaged 55 points on the road this year. “The Animal” also personally played VCU –10 ½ in the first half.

NCAA FREEBIE: UNC In the last 5 games the Heels have allowed nearly 80 PPG and have truly missed rookie Sean May going 3-7 ATS since the big man went down. The younger players have been trying to force up shots over bigger players and have gotten more than 5 per game swatted away in the last few outings. The Heels are 2-5 ATS on the road against winning teams and may be going into a hornets nest tonight in Cameron after Duke was upset at FSU on Sunday. Matt Doherty has held his star McCants out of the starting lineup the last 2 games due to his lack of effort on the defensive end and the coach will need a massive effort tonight. If this team has any Carolina pride at all they will show up tonight and give it hell. Getting 14 points, I think they can give the Devils a run.
