. PLAYS OF THE DAY;
FRIDAY, JUNE 18
SCOTT RICKENBACK / MARK WEILER - THE PLAYERS ADVANTAGE
Cleveland / Lee at Atlanta / Hampton OVER. Hampton hasn't been right all season and Lee is struggling his last few starts and was hit especially hard in his very last start. We expect Lee's struggles to continue today as the Braves look to bounce back from two straight big losses. Atlanta allowed 10 runs in each of their last two games and that has certainly used up a bullpen that's not too solid to begin with! If Hampton struggles early this game could be over the total by the midway point as we expect Cleveland to bounce back from yesterday's loss at the Mets. The Indians only scored two runs yesterday but they had scored 9 the day before and they have been producing a lot of runs lately. Look for offensive success from both lineups in this one. PLAY OVER 9 RUNS IN ATLANTA.
STEVE MERRIL - PRO SPORTS INFO
Kansas City / George at Philadelphia / Abbott OVER 10. A battle of two mediocre pitchers take to the mound tonight. Kansas City's Chris George is making only his fourth start of the season, while Philadelphia's Paul Abbott has an awful 9.18 ERA over his past four starts. PLAY OVER THE TOTAL.GLTA

Even with last night's under the Rockies are 14-6-1 to the over in June home games at night over the past 3 seasons. And they are 7-2 over at home this year vs. losing teams. Season record: 130-142 -24.37 UNITS
Lines from Pinnacle current as of 11:40pm Pacific on 06/18/04.
Four plays for Saturday:
MIN (RADKE) -122 over Mil (Obermueller) - 2 UNITS - 4:05pm Pacific
Radke hasn't won in his last four decisions, but he has pitched brilliantly as of late. Radke doesn't walk anyone, and he's starting to strike people out, which can lead to dominating performances. He's been very consistent in going 7 IP in each of his last five starts, and giving up only 7 ER over that span. He hasn't been getting run support, but that should change against Obermueller, who possesses only average stuff. Radke should continue his consistent ways and lead the Twins to a W.
OVER 8.5 NYY (HALSEY)/LA (NOMO) -128 - 1 UNIT - 12:10pm Pacific
Nomo has had only one high quality start all year, and he doesn't look even remotely close to putting a good game together. Against a potent offense like the Yankees, he's capable of giving up a lot of runs. Halsey has been dominating Triple-A, especially recently, but the Dodgers have been pretty good against lefties, and this will be Halsey's first taste of the major leagues. I expect the Dodgers to score off of him as well.
KC (GREINKE) +148 over Phi (Milton) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Milton has had two rough starts in a row, and he has given up six HRs in his last 8 IP. Staying at home won't help with the HR numbers. Greinke had a rough outing in his last start, but he's too good to have a prolonged bad streak. The high number is pretty good value for a pitcher of this caliber.
OVER 9 CLE (WESTBROOK)/ATL (BYRD) +100 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Westbrook is putting together a nice season, and currently sports a 2.70 ERA. This ERA will not stay there, however, as he is an extreme groundball pitcher, and those groundballs will eventually find the holes. Atlanta has a few hitters that do pretty well against groundball types, and I think Westbrook is capable of giving up a few runs in this spot. Byrd will be making his first major league start since having Tommy John surgery, so I don't expect him to be very effective. Cleveland's offense has proven itself, and they should be able to hit Byrd.

winning points
CLEVELAND (Westbrook) +Even vs. ATLANTA (Byrd)
Strange as it seems, the lowly regarded Indians are a
better team than the Braves right now. Atlanta is well below
.500, they've dropped 7 of their last 10 (-$595) , and their
sending an unproven pitcher to the mound who has been
out of the rotation all year. Jake Westbrook is having a fine
season for the Tribe (+$360, 2.80 ERA in 9 starts) and is
backed by team that has averaged 6.5 runs per game in the
past 10 days, and is turning an enormous profit (+$1345) vs.
righthanders. A win today puts Cleveland at ..500, better than
anyone thought they'd be doing when the season got underway.
