AUGUST 27
Hamilton at Montreal
Time: 7:30 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Hamilton 115.055; Montreal 108.428
Dunkel Line & Total: Hamilton by 6 ?: 36
Vegas Line & Total: Pick; 46
Dunkel Pick: Hamilton; Under
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have stumbled out of the gate, dropping their first two games with little offense to show for. The Ticats have only scored two touchdowns through their first two games, which is shocking considering they have one of the best connections in QB Jeremiah Masoli and WR Brandon Banks. The Alouettes are one of the most promising teams with Vernon Adams Jr. under center and are 1-1 after a tough loss to Calgary last week.
While Montreal is the up-and-coming squad, Hamilton are the reigning East Division Champs for a reason and are coming off a well-needed bye week. With the Ticats underwhelming offense becoming a clear trend, however, targeting the under is the right play in this spot.
AUGUST 28
BC at Ottawa
Time: 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: BC 103.862; Ottawa 106.850
Dunkel Line & Total: Ottawa by 3; 37
Vegas Line & Total: BC by 2; 43
Dunkel Pick: Ottawa (+2); Under
The Lions are coming off a tough home opener loss to the Elks and simply put --- it was hard to watch. Quarterback Mike Reilly had little to no time to find any open receiver, and Trevor Harris threw for over 300 yards on the Lions defense.
Despite Ottawa having offensive problems of their own, their defense has really been impressive thus far. Ottawa’s D has only allowed one touchdown through two games and won their Week 1 game in Edmonton thanks to three interceptions. Although BC is slightly favored in this matchup, the RedBlacks have the better defense, and that’s why I like Ottawa +2 at home, along with taking the under here.
AUGUST 29
Calgary at Winnipeg
Time: 7:00 pm ET
Dunkel Ratings: Calgary 110.679; Winnipeg 121.967
Dunkel Line & Total: Winnipeg by 11 ?; 39
Vegas Line & Total: Winnipeg by 5: 43 ?
Dunkel Pick: Winnipeg (-5); Under
The Blue Bombers' late fourth-quarter comeback fell short in Toronto last week, as Winnipeg suffered their first loss of the season. The defending Grey Cup champs will now travel to Calgary on Saturday and look to get back on a winning track.
Despite the Stampeders picking up their first win last week, backup quarterback Brett Maier threw two interceptions, and his 304 yards passing is extremely misleading considering the 24-year-old only completed 16/29 of his attempts. Toronto put up points on Winnipeg last week, but the Bombers still possess the best defense in the CFL and had only allowed 13 points the first two weeks of the season.
Expect Winnipeg to easily cover this five-point spread, winning big in Calgary.
