I've been riding Detroit the entire playoffs and have had a great run and fortunately even posted three or four times, including on games three and four. I only mention this because I think the play tonight is on the LAKERS.
No team has ever won the middle three games since the NBA switched to the 2-3-2 format for the finals in 1985. That's a key trend.
The Lakers are playing for survival and teams often produce huge efforts in that scenario. Detroit cannot play better than it did on Sunday and I acknowledge Shaq can't match Sunday's game either. But Bryant is due as is everybody else on the Lakers roster.
I still like Detroit in the series but the Lakers are the play tonight. And remember, with the line where it is they don't even have to win to cover. I'd wait until close to game time to play because I suspect the line will go up to -3 1/2 or even -4. Slight lean to the over on the total. GL.
