I've been betting baseball for about 20 years and I think it's the easiest of all the sports to bet . I've been listening to alot of people cry about how they are losing all the time. All you have to do is pick 5 to 10 pitchers that are good and stick with them, even if the odds are high. You will win alot of money. I've won over $5,000 since baseball started at $100 a game. My pitchers that I've been following are: Clemens, Petite-Houston--Sheets, MIl.--Wilson,Cin.--Milton, Phil--Brown, NY--Rogers,Texas--Mulder,Hudson,Oak---Shilling,Boston--Johnson,Ariz-- Try it and watch your money grow!!!!

Wilson? Sheets? Rogers? Milton? Every other pitcher is an annual $2 pitcher no shockers there..........lemme guess....U prolly pegged the Pistons back in September and also had Carolina winning the NFC after watching a couple of preseason games?

I've been betting Clemens, Petite, Johnson, Schilling, Hudson, Brown, and Rogers the last couple years. I used to also take Woods and Wakefield, Schmidt. I am a Pittsburgh fan, they have traded more great players and pitchers over the years than any other team in Baseball. I also used to bet guys like Gibson and Ryan years ago to name a few. Pitchers don't get into the Hall of Fame for nothing. Great pitchers keep winning over the years. I don't know how old you are but I went to the 60 world series when Mazerowski hit a home run to give the Pirates the World Series. I got the homerun ball. You don't have to watch exibition games to know who the good teams are. They are the teams that pay the free agents to make their teams better. Everyone has their own opinion and that is mine.

You evidently haven't been handicapping bases for very long, because if you had, you would know that basing your picks on pitching alone will lose you money in the long run. Congrats on your success so far, but trust me, it isn't this easy, and you would be well advised to alter your approach in the future.

no disrespest intended but did you buy that ball or were you outside the ball park because that ball left the ball park when it cleared the wall as there were no stands in left field i believe it landed in schenly park excuse my spelling on the park but that is where it landed would be curious to how you got it what a great piece of mem orabilia

I lived two blocks from Forbes Field when I was a kid. It just so happens that the ball was thrown over the wall and I got it. No one years ago would keep any balls that were hit over the wall at Forbes Field. And yes I will BettorsChat.

chuck if you have a moment explain there were no seats in fair territory in left the only seats were in right and right center i watched tons of phillies games in forbes field and never saw 1 ball that went over the ivy walls thrown back over the wall and it left the park the only person out there was yogi berra

hmmm....so these pitchers probably average -1.50...at even odds to be up 5 g's you would be 50 games over .500....unless you are undefeated to compensate for the juice you would have to be signifcantly better than that...I CALL THAT BLUFF

Hey Len I'm not trying to blow smoke up anyone ass. Harvey Haddix was my uncle,a pitcher in 1960. I used to go in the bullpen with him. I lived a couple blocks away from Forbes Field. When I didn't go to the games we played outside of the field. We always threw balls back over the wall, because we could get them anytime we wanted. The Head groundskeeper would catch with us and let us on the field. When I got older we moved 4 blocks from Three Rivers Stadium. Art Rooney grew up in my neighborhood, it was called the "Northside". He belonged to my church and would give the kids at our school tickets all the time. I went to Allegheny College in Meadville and played division 3 football, baseball, and track. In 1979 Myself and Jim Haslett (now coach of New Orleans) were defensive MVP of our district. In 1980 I signed a freeagent contract with the Pgh. Steelers and roomed with Mark Malone. I got cut after preseason and played for the Hamilton Tigercats. I tore my A.C.L. was was out of football. Back then there wasn't othroscopic surgery like there is now. I've been gambling eversince. In the early years I would bet 2-5 Thousand a game because I had the money. In PGH. my bookie runs bussiness in Pa. and W.V. He owns a few bars and is good pay. He showed me how to moneymanage and cap games. And alot of times would tell me who to put money on, because he would get a call from his brother in Vegas. They usually are money in the bank blowouts. I'm not going to argue with any of you guys, you all have your own opinions. But like today EZ you liked Baltimore and I bet Clev. and Westbrook at home,620/500. Sometimes we win, sometimes we loose. Good luck to everyone who makes picks on this forum. I'm not here to argue with any of you, I'm just giving my opinion once in a while like everyone else does.

Chuck- as I have stated before I have been a Red sox diehard since 1952 and primarily an American League fan.
However, your mention of the "kitten", brings back fond memories of his 12 inning perfect game against Milwaukee only to lose in the 13th.
Also, I can recall sitting in my room at prepschool in 1960 and rejoicing wildly as Mazeroski's homer sailed over the wall to defeat the hated Yankees in game 7 of the WS.
Ah yes-fond memories from the past(many not so fond when it comes to the sox).:D

chuck does probably have his own way of capping but, as you can see by the posts, everyone is struggling and it pisses most people off that he comes on today to post about how great he does with his system. it does bother me when people post how great they are doing and there is no proof. It also bothers me when people continue to post about how bad they are. if you suck then quit playing and if you are that great then post your plays consistently or don't brag about how great you are. everyone should be here to help each other so if you are sitting on a great system and not posting it then you should just keep quiet.

I understand where you are coming from brother, BELIEVE ME!

............But i have talked to chuck a few times in the past and he seems pretty level headed to me and i just think it came off wrong. He is getting drilled here and it's mainly because others are losing and mad??? C'mon i get excited when i win too, and i'm not sorry for it. I think your advice should be well taken by many if that's the case. Either stop posting til' you get a better feel or keep posting, be positive and work your way out of the slump!

Do you know what i'm talking about? There are alot of depressing posts here lately crying about everything on the base paths. Every game has 1 Winner in the box score the next day. You just have to be on the right side.

no doubt and I agree 100% with you. i don't blame chuck b/c maybe he is doing that well. on the other hand he has to expect to get drilled when he posts that. nobody will say anything when you, EZ, The 3 Wise Men, Homer, and many more when you guys win b/c you guys all post your plays daily.

i understand that it sucks to lose but to have to hear about how everyone lost a certain game and how this bullpen sucks and this closer sucks just gets old. everyone needs to vent but to read every other thread title about losing just makes me depressed

i want everyone on here to win and i want to learn as much as possible b/c i feel we have the best cappers around! bad streaks happen. it is how you weather the streaks that count!
