Truth, don't really know what to tell ya about VSS. They are an honest service and they win, but they do have unorthodox methods. I can tell you that they buy points for a reason, and that their win/loss percentage is affected positively as is their bankroll percentage bottom line.

It doesn't really matter to me as long as their extra juice loss is reflected in their +/- percentage that they keep track of. I can also tell ya that a TON of their games come right down to the line and that extra point does pay off alot. Sometimes I only buy a half point to take a game to an even number and eliminate any chance of a half point loss, but that's just my personal preference. As someone who receives their information all I can say is that they responded to my questions about the point buying very honestly and just told me that I can choose to play the game however I am comfortable. Their plays are guidelines for how their specialists are playing the game, and they realize that not all of their subscribers play in the same way. I guess this is why they offer selections that include money line/spread alternatives for players that play through local books that do not offer money lines. I like their flexibility, and the full point buy is just something that I overlook. I play the game how I like to play it (with their side) and sometimes I do buy the full, sometimes a half and sometimes none, it depends on the game.

I'm not gonna knock the service though, they do their best and I like their info. Just my opinion on the point buying thing......

Just like Private Players (5%), Alatex 20*, and VSS Hoopsie 6% playoff goy I am on the Lakers big (and I played it to +2). Maybe that extra half tonight plays out if it's a final possession type game who knows? All I know is that all of my hoop sources have unloaded on LA tonight, so it's a four figure play for me!
