I WAS AT MY LOCAL BAR LAST NIGHT HAVING A COUPLE OF BEERS AND WATCHING THE BASKETBALL GAME AND I HEARD A GUY SAYING LAST WEEK HE MIDDLE A BASEBALL GAME. FIRST OF ALL I NEVER HEARD OF MIDDLING A BASEBALL GAME. I BEEN BETTING SPORTS FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS AND I THINK IT WAS TOTAL BULLSHIT. I DID THIS MANY TIMES IN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL BUT BASEBALL? NEVER. ANYWAY IF THIS IS POSSIBLE PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW. I DON`T KNOW WHAT GAME THIS GUY WAS TALKING ABOUT BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG TIME AND THIS GUY I WOULD THINK BETTORS WITH A LOCAL BOOKMAKER AS OF MOST OF THE PEOPLE AROUND DO.

Middle a baseball game-thats easy.
Simply lay the price with the favorite and take 1 1/2 runs with the underdog on the runline, and hope favorite wins by 1 run.
ps Another reason to use an offshore, where this option unlike locals is always available.

I've done it several times this year already...Very hard to convert...
You stand a better chance when the game is projected with a low 7-8 run total...Pitchers w/ good eras. against weak hitting teams, plus look at the 1 1/2 RL for favorites vs dogs, compare the odds, a quick glance will indicate the oddsmakers predict a close/low scoring game...
Not often does the board dictate this...for example today...
Seattle -125 vs Expos....8 under projection...RL on Expos + 1 1/2 as visiting teams, slightly enhances your chances...e g , if Seattle winning by 1 at the end of ninth (TOP), no need to bat...You would have done it...i e , score 4-3 Seattle wins, had you played Seattle ML and EXPOS RL, you would have middled...
I dont even attemt or think about this play unless the following is there..
Pitchers with low ERA's
Teams that don't hit very well
Line is low on totals..
Spread on ML is -125 or less
And I personaly think it's gonna be a close pitchers duel..
Bull Pen strength has to be taken in consideration if starters don't go all the way...Just my take...PS hit just 1 of 4 this year...(both ways)
2 split out, 1 total loser...Very tough to hit, but can and has been done..Hope this helps, IMO only...TOF

THANKS FOR THE INPUT. I FEEL LIKE A FUCKING IDIOT NOW THAT YOU SHOWED ME HOW, I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THAT. I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIGURED HOW HE DID THIS ON A MONEYLINE.LOVE YOUR MOTHER BUT A DOLLAR IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.

Lets expound on that same game...
Montreal avg RPG's.....3.1------------Seattle 4.1
....................BA..........235---------------------259
......BP ERA................3.92---------------------4.21
Hernandez--Mont--w3 l5--ERA 3.4--Whip 1.1
Franklin-Seattle----w3 l4--ERA 4.6--Whip 1.3
Odds on RL
Montreal + 1 1/2 -205
Seattle - 1 1/2 + 170....
Both low scoring teams, not very good hitting teams, decent pitchers, decent Bull Pen, actualy they average out to almost even teams....Edge Montreal Pitching, almost same edge Seattle hitting....Odds indicate predict a close game....It's ironic you brought this up today, cause this game is a likely candidate....I neccessarily wouldn't play it, but certainly would monitor it..
Winds out to Right Center 7-12 MPH, 59 degrees, low humidity 59%, ball may have tendecy to fly out...Thus mitigating your chances of a complete pitchers duel, giving advantages to hitter, thus 1 swing of bat, routine fly ball, becomes HOMER....Very close to meeting my criteria for middling, however, too close to call...I like the OVER in this one....Thats how I determine if I middle a game...Lots of criteria ALL have to be in place...Had wind been blowing in, I would attempt it...Just my take...TOF...I also play strictly by stats/percentages/known factors, cannot control the intangibles....LOL to you..

Other possibilities: you could middle a total that rises a full run (over 8.5, under 9.5, for instance--generally you need to find a total that you think will be close to the number AND that will rise with late action, so that you can get on the over early and the under late). You could also find an opportunity for arbitrage (take over 8.5, +110 at one book, and take under 8.5, plus +105 at another book for the same game and for the same amount as your over bet--if the over hits, you make .10 units, if the under hits, you make .05 units.)"Nobody in football should be called a genius. Catfish style....but true....I remember one year when things were way worse than they are now, and I spent many a hours, going between 4 local books to make this work....Thanks...TOF
had to pick up scratch to eat at that time...was used to high wagering, so I built up grocery money during that lull...
Made no other wagers, but those, to guarantee (FOOD) was on the table.....Had a Wife, 6 sons, still do, and had let my gambling get control of me in lieu of the opposite...
Thanks for sharing that tid bit with us...

I stated earlier that it was ironic you asked that question, picked out the only probable candidate, Seattle/Montreal, decided not to do it, cause 1 criteria point fell short...
LO and behold, Seattle wins 1-0...Montreal + 1 1/2 wins also...You asked if possible, sure is...
They don't happen often...I backed off for fear of hi scoring as stated earlier, was totaly wrong.....LOL in future...TOF
