  • Cannery Row :

How is it possible for a lady of my stature ending up on skid-row !

    Easily , my wagering

Returning to form for 2 days in a row is a blessing and after a week of soup , sorely needed . Stepping out tonight again and if recentcy has anything to do with it , I should fare well !

A heat index study around here has shown that the kettles getting warm with the sides (stronger point lately  ) and taking notice will only pay dividends , with that being said and knowing my perchant for pain I offer a 4-Teamer in totals of all things that I feel has a very decent shot at hitting the boards :

    Cubs - U 7.5 / Jays - U 9.5 / Orioles - U 10 / Twins - U 9

    @ 1* = $1087.00$

    Todays Outlook :

    Cubs - 156 *** & U 7.5 *****
    L.A. + 120 * & U 9.5 *****
    Padres + 125 ** & U 10.5 *
    N.Y.Y. - 250 * & U 9 ** (Praying that Kennedy exits early ?)
    Balt. -133 ** & U 10 *****
    Marlins -110 * & U 9 **
    Braves -129 *** & U 9.5 *
    S.F. -195 * & O 8 * ( S.F. by thierselves )
    Phillies +106 * & O 9 ***
    Rangers -110 ***** & O 9.5 **
    Mets +118 *** & U 9 *****
    K.C. -123 *** & O 8.5 *
    Mariners -117 *** & O 7 *****
    Reds + 137 ** & O 8.5 ***
    Angels - 167 ***** & U 8.5 * ( Sleeps needed & pray for the pen )

    All Teams Under 136 ********** ( I cant see 9 runs per tonite )

Lock the doors and hide your children , the beast is on the prowl tonite . Looking for a good fence , I have several stolen articles for sale but the trouble is none of them are material in nature ......... all Mental

                M/m

I live only a few miles from Cannery Row and it is no longer the skid row that Steinbeck wrote about when he and Doc Ricketts use to patrol that area. With the closing of the sardine factories and the addition of the Aquirairum around 10 years ago, It has been transformed into a tourist hang out for fine dining and gift shops. Ever in the area please let me know so i can give you my guest passes to the Aquairum. Im sure u saw pictures of it if u watched any of the Startrek movies. GL hc

                  cannery row

hc. I live in the Bay Area and the Monterey Aquirairum is one of the best. As for Cannery Row, it has turned into a first class tourist trap. Your note reminded me of a dinner we had at the Sardine Factory sometime ago. The wine steward came complete with eye patch and fake french accent. Could have been an old Oakland Raider. When we asked him about a certain wine, he made up some story that was total bull. I guess he was thinking we were not from the area, so we wouldn't know what he was saying anyway. The kicker was when they were ready to close and I went to the rest room and there is our Wine Steward/Oakland Raider taking off his eye patch and putting it into his pocket. I guess you pay for the atmosphere, wheater you want it or not.

                    sandman

you may no more about this area than i do. Came here with a backpack on nearly 30 years ago. Didn't plan on staying hitchhiked down from Berkley but am originally from Midwest. Only reason i stayed here was because i didnt have any money @ the time and was sleeping in the sand dunes on Asilomar beach. Grew roots out of necessity. Lucky i became interested in real estate and was able to invest when it was possible. If not i doubt i would be here today. Please except my invitation to use guest passes to the Aquairum next time around. I don't eat on Cannery Row for the very reasons u mentioned. Best sea food here is found in Carmel. All the Best!!! hc

hc. You could not have done better if your tried. Thanks for the invite. You never know. I love all seafood. The best food on cannery row is at the places without big windows. Captains Cove 643 Cannery Row was the best. R they still there.
