We can't say enough about the job Oliver Perez has done
since joining the Pirates. The Bucs have won 6 of his 9
starts so far (+$335) and his ERA is an impressive 3.20.
He's perfectly suited to oppose a Texas team with a losing
record against lefties (only 3-5,-$325 at Arlington). Pittsburgh
has had a great deal of success vs. righthanders on the road
thus far (13-9, +$825) and Joaquin Benoit has not been very
effective (5.24 ERA). The Rangers have fallen off the pace in
recent days, and are now in 3rd place in the AL West. We may
look for opportunities to go against them in the days ahead.
