  • MLB Monday 6/07

1st day of the Wacky World of IL.

Pittsburgh coming to Texas but not Houston -

The Buccos IMO play much better baseball
while on the road. But I cannot bet against the Rangers
who are very capable at home AND coming off of
a Yankee series. Not alot of positives for me to
type about Dickey, so I won't.
I'm going out on a limb and taking the
    OVER 10.5 -120

Houston going to Seattle...just sounds weird.

    - I'm sure that alot of fans of the BoSox, Yankees,
Dodgers and Angels will disagree, but the Astros are 3.5
game behind the Reds in what I consider the toughest
division in MLB. They have their hands full with the likes
of the Reds, Cards and Cubs. This will be a mini vacation.
Now of course if they have their ass handed to them in Seattle
my excuse will be: " Stupid Innerleague!".
    I'm not sure what a Duck's Worth these days...hehe,
But I'm playing tha 'Stros !!!

Cincinnati at The Bay...but on the other side of it.

    - Mulder is no doubt a bad dude when it comes to pitching.
But this is the almighty big red machine. And Griffey's on a roll.
Lidles no push over either. the Reds will get it done late in the game.

St Louis Cards @ Chicago Cubs
    - Chris Carpenter -nuff said.

    Cardinals -117

SF Giants @ Colo Rock Pile

    - Strikeouts are a big MUST on a pitchers resume'
if he is to play at Coors Field. The elements will send a guy
packing very early in the game if he fails to keep the ball
on the ground and does not get his share of K's.
Estes is much more in tune with this than the guy he
is sharing the mound with today, Tomko.
Look for Tomko to last a bit less than the norm in this one.

    Colo Rockies -124

This will be the first time I post and bet a serious size wager
    on the Grand Salami.

Here are my thoughts of what the Totals will be today:

    SF/Col 9
    StL/Chi 5
    Pit/Tex 12
    Hou/Sea 11
    Cin/Oak 6

A grand total of 43. I like the UNDER big time since it is
just about set at 10 runs higher than mine.

    Grand Salami UNDER 53.5

Good Luck on the Grand Salami--but after the 20 runs SF/COL scored total last night I feel a little leery about saying the total might be Under--especially all those AL pitchers batting in the rotation on the 3 IL games--looking for a lot of bunting--hmmmm--maybe the Under is stonger than I think!!

        Thanks folks !!!

The Under on the GS is one of my better feels.....

for whatever that worth...but I am coming off a bad weekend, so you just don't know.

Funny thing about gambling - You never know when a slump OR a hot streak has ended. It's always after the fact that we say to ourselves " Damn...If I'd known that was going to happen"....hehe.
