-- WinOnBaseball handicaps Major League Baseball exclusively.

-- All plays with analysis, along with current and past season records, will be updated weekly on the "Records" page of our website.

Season record: 111-125 -26.08 UNITS

(Note: WOB is now 55-36, 60.4% on OVER/UNDER plays this season.)

Three plays for Friday:

FLA (PAVANO) -105 over NYM (Trachsel) - 1 UNIT - 4:10pm Pacific
Trachsel's 3.11 ERA isn't supported by his skill set, as his K/9 and K/BB ratios are weak. His numbers should take a hit because of this, and it may have started in his last outing agaisnt Florida, in which Florida scored 6 runs in 3 IP off of him. Florida's lineup can hit him, and I expect them to continue in this game.

PHI (MILTON) -120 over ATL (Smith) - 1 UNIT - 4:35pm Pacific
Smith turned in a very good performance against the Phillies in his last start, but I don't think he has another one in him, as he's not that good. Milton and his bullpen are very solid and should be able to protect the lead, as I think Philly's offense will be able to score off of Smith.

DET (MAROTH) +131 over Min (Lohse) - 1 UNIT - 5:10pm Pacific
Lohse was unimpressive in his last start in which he picked up the win. He hasn't looked good all year, and although Maroth hasn't been great against Minnesota, he's still a lefty, and lefties have done well over the years against them. If Lohse continues to pitch the way he's been pitching all year, Detroit shouldn't have a problem scoring off of him

Detroit has lost 8-of-11 in the series. The Twins have hit .289 to the division this year. Going against road teams that blow 38 percent or more of their save opportunities when the home team has a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.700 or worse is 71-37. Going with home favorites of 150 or less with a pitcher who gives up seven or more hits per start the bullpen has pitched two or fewer innings in three straight games is 40-14.
